I know i am a bit late but if you want rock you may want to check out Walkie talkie man by Steriogram. It has a wierd beat and is really intresting I am not sayin you'll like it you may not but I just thought I'd say.

hard rock or screamo are best in my opinion for montages, cause most likely, it's what you would be listening to when actually performing sick shtuff.

well if its anything with like a faster pace try like "dragonforce - through the fire and flames" or or maybe like some iron maiden...i love iron maiden
You should try the new Evanescence song, "Call Me When You're Sober". It's pretty good, may not be what you're looking for but I think it'd be a good montage song. If I ever make one I might use it.
