Hey people,

My internet went down today, So I couldn't get on live for practice. Virgin said they are working in the area and my TV,Phone and internet are all down so I'm having to use my laptop to post this -_- ...

Yeah, So I don't know when my net will be back it hopefully will be back before friday and I'm sorry but I won't be making the 4 hours a week thing this week. So yep once again sorry about that and I'll try and sort out my hours when I get LIVE going.

Hey,

I have a vodafone dongle thingy that I got yesterday early because my internet went down, It was for my birthday which is today =) (Now you can't believe I'm not 15 Delta, instead of 14).

But yeah this little dongle thing lets me on teh net anywhere near enough, has nothing to do with virgin. So yeah when I home today hopefully LIVE will be going.

Okay so got home and found out internet is probably going to be down until the weekend, Virigins excuse being the weather so yeah hopefully it will be fixed before that but it should be back at the weekend.

Oh and asch can you tell firefox or drewman why I wont be at practices for the time being.

You can use dongles to get on xbox live if it's any use to you? I can find you a link with instructions?

Intoxicate that be cool if you could do that,I tried to do that with bridgeing connections but it all sorta fell apart.

Caid ring Virgins support and just mention that they are in breach of contract by not supplying you with the service you pay for.

They'll expedite things then

Yeah tell them you will with-hold payment as they aren't providing you with a service.

Best write to them it gets taken more seriously than over the phone.

Phone virgin eh? they control my phone, my TV and me nets its all down right now... lol + I don't think they'd listen to a 15 year old.

I tried to set up the dongle thing again right after I saw intoxicates first post and I got it going BUT!!! I CAN'T GET Vodaphone 3G near my xbox and GPRS was what I used when I got on, and its so slow I can't go into to a party chat with 3 people it lags out even at 1 person lol.

So yeah I'm sick of virgin this isn't the first time they have failed me but if it ain't on tomoz I'm getting rid o them, hopefully when I get back I'll finish recruitment and if theres space trial for one of the team thingy I caught a glimpse of in my msg box you sent me( consolegaming or enemydown which I thought was dead lol)

Damn that sucks - BT are just as bad you really can't win - the point i'm trying to make is they don't care if your paying.

BT couldn't get me connected until I told them it was the DNS that wasn't resolving.

Bicali has been coming to practice - hopefully he will make it to the competitive one tonight.

Have a look around the net for good ISPs see which ones have the best reviews. Although some people will have problems others won't it's pot luck :(

I has no idea whats happening now with changing my ISP but yeah who cares...

Dosen't matter I'll just have to wait and see as I have no control over who we get in.

I found one called "Be" and it looks okay to me, It needs a BT telephone line to connect through which is who are doing my phone line I'm pretty sure once I get rid of virgin. Even though you said BT was bad for internet Asch, It will just be my phone they are doing not the actual internet (unless its some spin off company).

That does look good yes, however my issue would be this 24 meg download speed with no mention of fibre optics anywhere.

24meg can not be achieved on an ordinary phone line or via wireless network.

Do you have fibre optics in your area King? We don't here and my net is only 8 megs, I've rarely had a problem with the net so far no more than anyone else. The other day touch wood appears to have been a one off. I'm supposed to have up to 20 megs but it's not possible in my location. Ill see if I can find a site with the best internet in your area?

BT would just be your phone line not the broadband so dont worry on that side unless they run off BT systems of course.

Yeah there's no fibre optic cable involved, aren't Virgin the only people who do fibre optic? I am getting BT in to do the Phone Line (BE pay BT to setup in one of BTs exchange places and run through their phone line.

As for the area It's Greenock, Inverclyde(For some reason it's Renfrewshire on BE site). I'm quite close to Glasgow and if I ran a Phone or internet service in britain I'd setup near there with the amount of potential customers so I should be able to get it I'm guessing/hoping.

Sigh... even when I get internet It will be like 3 weeks before it's even at broadband speed -_- .

Yeah virgin are they only ones that do fibre optics but that's only if you live in a cabled area.

Unless you are in a fibrecity which as far as I know is only Bournemouth and soon to be Dundee lol. No use to yourself of course :(

Downfall of broadband is the set up times, mac code release and all that :(

Yeah, BT are coming in on Monday and after that I just have to wait for it going online...
