"Placid Waters"

A sheet of water,
not a ripple
Perfect picture,
sunsets in red, orange, and purple

everything is right,
there is no rain
no clouds hanging
and I'm still sane

there was thunder
and there was lightning,
with all this chaos
the noose was tightning,

now it's just this water,
this pool of peace,
I'm finally settled
all the turmoil has ceased,

for now the pain has nulled itself,
and now I happily hum to myself.
