ok, some one really has to fix that crack. I was trying to add a poll to this thread with the names of all the final fantasies from 1-13 to tactics and crisis core but when I finished adding all the names and did post it then tells me (You can only post a poll after 2 mins after making a thread.) .........can this be fixed, or can a poll still be added some how?

As much as I love 7, I believe it is way too overrated and has been milked dry.
Final Fantasy 1 - 6 - Haven't played any of these, I might look at getting them.
Final Fantasy 7 - VERY GOOD Storyline. Amazing game play. Forever a Classic.
Final Fantasy 8 - Incredible, Another A++ Title.
Final Fantasy 9 - WAY TOO UNDERRATED, This is by far my favorite of the Final Fantasies. I love the story, the characters, the music, EVERYTHING Dx
Final Fantasy X - Great Story, Whiny Brat for a main character, but I still found myself liking him at time (more towards the end when he grew some balls and actually got mad at stuff)
Final Fantasy X-2 - WORST GAME EVER! >.< I don't even need to explain, the only reason I played this game when I was younger is because I had a little boyish crush on Rikku..
Final Fantasy 12 - Decent story and characters, nothing amazing. Solid RPG.

My finest memory of the FF series is hands-down battling through the Temple of Fiends in FF1 on the original NES for the first time. Can't even begin to count how many times I bit the dust (stupid Gas Dragons...) before I decided running was the best option 99% of the time down there. xD
I love the 8-bit and 16-bit eras, especially for their RPGs. I love Dragon Warrior/Quest, too...but not as much as the first six FFs. :-D

I admit 8 was an ok story plot. But, I hate the fact Squarenix made it where u leveled up so did the monsters. Then to get the items for your weapons was horrible. I swear when I first played it I literally got to Ultmecia with the first gunblade as a weapon (I don't know how, but I did). I slashed her and did a 148 dmg and laughed... But that is my opinion... FF7 I'm not going to lie I was a hardcore worship Sephiroth fan. I even got my blade collections because of him. I have a 6ft ordachi blade sitting under my bed worth 900 dollars. They suppose to be adding one last story to FF7 which I rumored on here a long time ago on some insights of what might to expect. But, yea its time to let FF7 die....

Yes, Final Fantasy XIII will be released in 2010 on both PS3 and 360 in North America. It remains a Playstation exclusive in Japan. It is being developed on PS3 using the Crystal Tool Engine, and will be ported over to the 360.
Also, within the same year, Final Fantasy Versus XIII will also be released. I Completely different game developed by the team that made Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy Advent Children. Said to have more of an FF7/8 feel to it.

Yeah, I've been dying to get my hands on both XIII's, Versus more than XIII. Although, I'm really curious to see how bad of a hit the Xbox version of XIII gets when it's ported from the PS3. For those that don't know, it's been reported all over that XIII is apparently using 100% of the PS3's processing power. No one knows what that means for the Xbox version though.

lol seriously guys xD they announced FFXIII on the 360 last year at E3.
Honestly I don't know how they're going to do it.. The PS3 version uses 100% of the PS3's power and I've even heard rumor it might have to be a 2 Blu-Ray Disc game.. All cutscene's are done in Real-Time, and There's going to be 3 different versions released (one for each of the main characters)
They're going to have to compress the hell out of it for the Xbox, and I imagine it'll be a 3-4 Disc game.. =/ hopefully there will be a PS3 Price drop by then and everyone will be able to enjoy it on the PS3 in all it's glory. (:P don't forget to check out MGS4 and LBP as well)
I'm personally looking forward to Final Fantasy Versus XIII, which is unfortunately a PS3 Exclusive, sorry guys :(
Too me the game looks like it takes place in a more VII/VIII-ish time period, and the I love the whole dark aspect to it.
I might as well post some trailer links up here for you all too eh? ^-^

Loved them all... even some just called final fantasy... so, here's a more complete list of my thoughts on them.
The following may contain SPOILERS!!
--------Main Games ------------
Final Fantasy: Wow, fond memories of playing this as a child. It was a pretty tough game really but probably would do much better if I replayed it as I have a few more brain cells now to rub together. The Graphics were decent for the time and could still really hold interest. 4 WHM's yay :D
Final Fantasy 2: This game really should have come out like the first one, It was a really good squeal. It was much tougher then the first one which was a huge plus in my book. I didn't get to play this game til after many further games were released on a simulator, then again on a gameboy advanced. Same style as the first really, just a big open world with a nice lil plot, but nothing super story driven like were used to in our games now.
Final Fantasy 3: Strangely enough, This game is the last of the Final Fantasy Game's I got to play. I could never find it though I tried. I did find it once, but as I don't read Japanese it didn't help much. But on the DS I finally got my chance. Again I say it should have just came out naturally to us as well. Onion Knights FTW!
Final Fantasy 4: So finally Square decided to give us American's a bone and sent this game and called it Final Fantasy 2! This game kicked some serious butt! It had such an upgrade of a story to the "first" game. Little did I know at the time this was the fourth game. I remember even shouting 'hell yeah, kick their ass Cid' when they came rolling in with the tanks near the end.
Final Fantasy 5: Another game I got to play out of order! This job seemed like it was very influential to the Game Final Fantasy Tactics as they seemed to have very similar set ups in their job system save refinement of time and more effort. It was a very enthralling game and made me HAVE to get the anime cartoons that follow the events after the game concludes
Final Fantasy 6: This will always remain one of my alltime favorite games. Called Final Fantasy 3 when I got to play it the first time. Out of any Final Fantasy I'd suggest being played, it'd be this one. The characters were so well developed, the story was top knotch and VERY epic. You had direct impact if your characters lived or died throughout the story. Did you wait for shadow? did you save him or let him fall and die? did you Save Cid by feeding him good fish or abandon him? What about Gogo and Gau, did you help them? so many awesome things to explore and discover that you could have totally missed playing through. Many hidden gems too. Have you found Ziegfried and fight him again?
One note: funnest part about this game was finding fun things to do to win. X-zone instantly kills your enemy but hardly works, Invisible makes you hard to hit, but spells will always hit you, now... if you cast invisible on your enemy... you can't hit him, but then xzone the area and poof, he's gone... best yet, several of the bosses would let you do this to them! LAWL! and Kiefka had the best 8bit graphic laugh of all time.
Final Fantasy 7: I totally was enthralled in this game when it came out... I spent so many hours on this until I had literally done everything. I collected and mastered every materia twice and raised several golden chocobo's... defeated the ruby and emerald weapons, It was so damn fun at the time. Unfortunatly when I tried to replay this game years later it only made me sad, the game really didn't age well for me. It was best left only in memory. I doubt I have to say anything more as this seems to be the god game of the series for most fans, not me though... It was fun, but there were certainly many better IMO.
Final Fantasy 8: So many people have given this game a bad reputation. I fight them! This game was the bomb. It was a love story damnit! Squall started out like such a little punk and you got to see him mature and grow into love. The combat was interesting but did grow a little easy, drawing your powers from the island of heaven and hell would instantly turn you into a powerhouse. This is the game that will always live in infamy as I still sometimes pull my trigger button when a sword hit occurs just hoping for that gunblade to kick in. And I will also note, this game had one of my favorite intro movies. That fight scene rocked.
Final Fantasy 9: A pure joy... just awesome, It was like this game was a gift to us old school FF fans. After the previous ones got to so many techno and cyberpunkish stuff it was great to see the oldschool essence back in the system. The story and characters were unique and thought out "Master Vivi" was one bad assed black mage! Greatest moment was getting to find out "Daggers" real name as Sarah. so rewarding!
Final Fantasy 10: Epic, this game was great. It flaunted off the graphics of the new system with great success. I loved the story all the way and including the ending. It had the length needed to with much side quests and bonus stuff you could find.
Final Fantasy X-2: Less Epic: but still fun. If you couldn't get enough of Final Fantasy 10 and have the time to burn, play it... you can see the world get better through the use of ... dress sphere's... Though I would say the song in the middle of the Thunderfields that you get to watch makes the rest of the game seeming rehashed worth it. Plus if you do the right stuff and collect certain items throughout the game you get to reunite Yuna and Tidus. The game was much more freeform then the first one, you got to choose what you wanted to do next for the most part as your team would change objectives.
Final Fantasy 11: Do not flame me for this, this is my oppinion. But this game was so much funner for me to play then World of Warcraft. The story was actually quite rich and I only really completed the Bastok line of things so I can only imagine how things would look from the other two cities (No i won't betray Cid and leave bastok lol) I was a whitemage so I never had any trouble getting parties, everyone needed a kick ass whitemage to keep their punk asses alive~ I met many awesome people, had a great time and loved it til the day I stopped playing. The economy sort of tanked with the gilsellers hitting hard, I couldn't afford to level much and seemed to be only helping people fight the god's or escorting people through some of the harder quests. (god I hate the level break 1 quest, must have done that thing 100 times)
[Follow up note about why I liked it more then WoW]
I think what really stood out to why I liked it more the WoW was the difficulty. WoW I literally leveled up from 1-40 in a week, then 40-60 in another 3 weeks, then when it came time for 60-70 it took me a month, all solo.. just me playing by myself, it was an MMORPG for me only in the sense that there were people trying to kill me, I rarely ended up having to go out to look for help or interact with anyone. It took me around 2 years to get to 75 in FF, I couldn't solo at all past level 8, I had to join a party and thus I ended up getting to know people, got friends and had a much more enjoyable time because I was forced to depend on others.
Final Fantasy 12: Yay, this game was pure gold for me. The new combat system just screamed awesome and I again literally did everything in this game, even a marathon fight with Yiamat that lasted many, many, many hours... the thing had what 12 million hitpoints or something crazy like that? Though it may have been a bit more linear then I was hoping for, It's flaws were few and far between. I suggest if you have not played this game, do so... you won't be disappointed.
Final Fantasy 13: DAMNIT... NOA PLEASE!
-----------Non Mainline games ---------
Final Fantasy Legend:(Saga) Epic... lol, okay this gameboy game really consisted of this, your a boy... at the bottom of a tower, you must fight your way up through the tower to discover new worlds and help solve their problems, fight their 'god' of the world to get the key to continue... and when you get to the very top of the tower you meet god, or the "Creator" of it all, and what do you do when you meet him? why you kill him of course, I used a saw and cut him in half in one turn... boy what an anti climatic ending. Also one fun fact. The strongest sword in this game was "Glass sword" ... awesome
Final Fantasy Legend 2: This Game was a lot harder then the first one, but at the same time was very fun. If you went through the entire game without dying (which was not easy) you could even get Odin's spear!
Final Fantasy Legend 3: They went a little off the wall with this one, you ended up getting an airplane and a crew you could build up, But fun conclusion to the trio of Legend games.
Final Fantasy Adventure: In Japan this game was called Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden but they decided to just cut it down to final Fantasy and add adventure fer us 'mericans lol. It was the first in what would become the Mana Series (Secret of mana, legend of mana etc) and was very fun, it was not a turn based game and if you played secret of mana you could already expect the sort of fighting you can expect. I have many fond memories of playing this game and helping out my uncle as he played it too.
Final Fantasy Mystic Quest: This game was horrible, I had to play it because it was called Final Fantasy, but it was just not that fun. It was made by Americans and at least for me, made me dissapointed in our ability to make games that we could screw up a final fantasy game so very badly. I would say more but I feel every word I type about this is more then it deserves.
Believe it or not, there are more Final Fantasy Games out there, I haven't played them but here's a list
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years

Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII
Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII

Like PMS SciFi, my first final fantasy was 10. I remember getting it and not being able to put it down. That is always the mark of a good RPG to me. The graphics were great and I really enjoyed the storyline even if it was a bit short compared to some of the other final fantasies.
I played 7 next and that game is just great. I remember thinking about how every main character has a back story that is developed and I remember I almost didn't play it because of how bad the graphics were in my opinion. I played 8 after 7 and it was a likable gamer although I thought junctioning was over complicated.
I don't really care for 9 or 12. My bf gave me 9 for christmas one year and I just couldn't get into it. I bought 12 when it came out and it was just mediocre to me. I couldn't get into and I don't like the main character. Square died to me after 10 really. Kingdom Hearts is pretty good and I didn't like kingdom hearts 2 all that much.

Each Final Fantasy gave me something different. My first was 7 way back in 97 when it was the pinnacle of graphics. The character interactions and character growth were profound and sparked my interest in related topics. 8 is probably my favorite but it seems to trade characters and story for graphics and music. Being the Snooty McSnootypants that I am, really enjoyed the game because it was easier to immerse myself into it. 9 had an amazing story, amazing characters, and amazing music, but the character designs were too cartoony for me and even though it had a serious and somber tone most of the game, the bright colors always through me off. 10 was all around good but not great. I played a little of 11, not enough to get any kind of opinion though, but I do recall being frustrated with how long it took to regain health till someone taught me how to kneel. 12: All of my hate. Worst game ever of the FF series. It's basically one long cutscene with how the auto battle handles. 13 really caught me off guard. None of the original people were working on this game and I was expecting trash. The character designs were good, the plot was amazing, the characters were sadly, very one-dimensional till they very uncharacteristically change their motives at the drop of a hat. Basically the tl;dr of character development. The combat was a little more engaging, but you don't know how badly I would have done anything to move during combat. I can't even begin to describe the swears that were spewing out of my mouth because I was fighting enemies that have AoE attacks and Snow taunts them, then does steelgaurd, THEN STANDS RIGHT NEXT TO MY PARTY MEMBERS! All of my rage. It was like play with a bad tank in WoW.
All of them are amazing and unique and I'm glad to have given up a good portion of my life to immerse myself in their stories.
If I HAD to pick a favorite, I'd say 8.
One word: Gunblade.
