That right! Reading anime news network found out fox got rights to it. Now really been looking forward for it to be a movie, but Keanu Reeves as Spike. Little of me dies inside think of that just don't think he could play spike at all. What do you all think?

I second that. This is one of the greatest animes of all time. It's not just a show, it's a part of every anime lover's history or whats the word I'm looking for....

I guess its a bad time to say Hollywood is also remaking Evangelion, Akira, and Ghost in the Shell (Spielberg??).

Omg, they need to stop making live action anime movies, espcially the classics. It depresses me lol.

News like this makes my skin crawl.

My response is a quote from the immortal Bob Newhart on a skit from Mad TV. I offer his advice to the money grubbing media whores ruining perfectly good series'.

Stop It! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYLMTvxOaeE)

Enjoy the skit.

I'm mean hell yeah its cool to "think" about making it into a movie, but it never does it any justice. Same way people criticize book to movie cross overs. Especially when they bastardize the series, much like Dragonball. Same goes with videogame movies.

Its seems like execs hear about what's "Geek Shic" and they think well we can make money off of this, but we need to mass market it so everyone can enjoy it. By doing so, they take away whatever the series once stood for and envisioned. All the people that have the control, have the money. No one working on the project is a legitimate fan.

And then I hear people saying "Oh Dragonball is horrible" etc, people that have never seen the series or read the manga or can appreciate the amazing works of Akira Toriyama.

As much as I love cowboy bebop and would truly love nothing more than to see more of it. But no way in .... do i think they are going to be able to pull off a movie out of it. It will be butchered, painfully :( Where is the article?

Here's the Anime News Network piece, don't know if it's the same one.

If Magazine ran a piece on it. And after reading it, they mentioned strict quality control and not to do what Dragonball did.

Hmm maybe we'll see the old Adult Swim anime line up turned into movies, maybe a little Trigun? lol

If they make a live movie of one of the great animes, it going be alot of suicides. literally. Also Dragonball anime wasn't that good to begin with so the movie was bust when the news got out.

they better do this movie right, I am seriously getting worried Hollywood would ruin this movie like they did with Dragonball.
