This is all V3nus's fault, so blame her. :p
Basically wasrow is a fast paced shooter, I hear it being compared to CPMA quite often even though I havn't played it so I cannot compare. Its very light graphically on your PC so most people can play it, in fact is a little cartoonish in a way but oh so fun. You ca do ridiculous wall jumps all over the place, well I think it suffices to say its just a great time. Its a small download (~60MB) and best of all, its free!

Hopefully we can snag enough interest to do some community events with the game, its perfect for that type of thing. (<-- V gets the credit for that awesome idea too)

Sweet, cant argue with something thats free.
I'll download it this weekend sometime and check it out. Where can this vent info be had, and what time would be best to jump on and catch some action?

Ya I tried Warsow...its not to bad very similar to Quake to me which is why I am bad at it. But it was free so I can't complain to much. I'll probably even try and play it a little more. I can't get any better at those fast paced shooters if I dont try :P
yay, don't worry, i'm bad at it too, i could use some competition that I can kill more than once between a myriad of deaths :-p

Interesting. Since it's running on an old engine, it's a computer game I'd actually be able to play. I'll have to check it out soon.
Oh, I want to play! I have this. I suck at it, but it is still fun. Any specific times you guys play?
um....it varies man, but i'll bug ya on xfire when we're playing. Same with the rest of the poeple who posted here who i have on xfire.

Just join the new vent, meow :o. Usually when people play its in the "Quake" channel.
Indeed it is very similar to CPMA (which I preffer. www.promode.org ).
And to anyone who doesn't know, its supported by CAL and many other leagues. Its not one of those crappy random FPS games that nobody has ever heard about, its a thing that many people play.
It runs on an extremely modified Quake 2 engine, meaning the oldest of computers have absolutely no issue with it (gogo Pentium 2). The graphics are cartoony (I forget exactly what its called, but imagine Zelda the Windwaker in FPS), but it adds style points to the game itself.. gives it a unique face. Definately worth checking out.

I think I'm the least of the crappy. The only person I haven't played yet in our little in-house gang on ventrilo is Venus. Last time I watched her, my movement was faster, and her aim was a little better.. but I hear she's been working on her movement- jumping around a lot.. so it'll be interesting whenever it happens.
I say least of the crappy because the skill gap is insanely high in this game (just like it is in CPMA). Its hard to become really good when you got all the pros showing off, joining the few servers there are and raging you. You get better seeing other people do tricks, but its usually better watching from their point of view rather then getting shot by it..

Game is pretty fun.. but I suck horribly.
It was more fun trying to learn all the cool jump tricks. WHen I actually played Rip he destroyed me 17 - 1

Maybe you and meow should play, i think it'd be a pretty good match.
Hey I beat you a couple times nok, even once on wdm5 :p one win every 5-10 times i play you is good enough for me. maybe it was just luck or something hehe.
Indeed when you see really good people play, its just insane to watch. I feel like a snail.

Warsow is crazzzay. I haven't learned the jumps yet but I can kill other people (an myself) quite a bit!

nokarat destroyed me today.. it was pretty fun regardless.. I coudlnt even hit him with my melee weapon while he was standing still :X
Though.. its not really easy to play any FPS with my setup (online anyway.. its excellent for single player).. My computer is hooked up to my HDTV and I play back on a couch 10 ft away with a wireless keyboard and mouse. Its hard when not playing at a desk with a crt 1 ft from your face.
That doesnt mean I dont suck at the game.. I do.. but at least I'm comfortable and having fun while being pwned. HOpefully I'll get better as I find time to practice the jumps and get used to this setup.

Well not officially but I put forth the idea today that our extra floor space in our booth be devoted to Warsow so people can play 1 v 1 for fun :) Come to WCG US Finals in Vegas so I have people to talk to haha
curses, I wish I could be there, actually dpad is going to have some reps out there, but sadly my educational schedule conflicts :( I'm getting decent at the game, although i can't play online with this crappy net anymore grrr

If any of you want some help learning Warsow, I'll run through it with you. I'm far from pro but I can teach you the basics and show you some cool jumps. Rip got 5x faster when I taught him what a circle jump was, and I'm sure most of you still dont know what that is.
I will attest to the fact my movement has greatly improved.....granted I did some lap running as well so I practiced it, now I move pretty well. Learning helps a lot if you're not familliar with how it works.
