Do you realize how huge of an insult this is to Americans in general? Does ANYONE remember when we took down the statue of Saddam Hussein and the people threw shoes at the statue? Culturally, this is quite the message when used... And only used in extreme instances of hatred or disgrace.

This is an insult to our freedom and rights. Who cares if you don't like Bush? That shoe was not only aimed at our leader, but us and everything we as Americans stand of because we have the rights to stand for whatever it may be.

wow that matrix animation is freaking hilarious. My husband is in the army and he works at AFIC (the Inugural Committee) and he said he was sitting down for lunch and when that came on the news he said he couldnt help himself and he busted out laughing and everyone else in the room was silent...talk about awkward. Look at it this way:
Let's say an Iraqi threw a shoe at an American. Just any American simply because of that person's nationality... Not because they did anything to wrong the Iraqi personally. This would indicate that the Iraqi is angry at Americans, rather than just the individual.
Kind of a crappy analogy, I know. And because Bush is our LEADER and main representative adds to the evidence bag regarding that man's aim at everyone else... Not literally of course, but the message conveyed it directed not only to the individual, but to the masses.

I do realize that Bush's personal actions do have a tie to this, but I am simply saying that it isn't only him this is aimed at.
