Well I was in a 4 wheeler accident over the weekend.
Here's the story (for simplicity's sake I'll copy and paste much of what I told a couple people over msn):
I was camping with my family and my cousin brought her friend along (friend named Keiko (Japanese name) I love the name and she's really cute). So anyways she asked me to take her for a ride on the quad and I said sure (me being straight and all... it was the natural thing to do ) so we're riding along this dirt road and then I stopped because my hands were frozen. She asks if she could try driving. I said ok. She was pretty good for a first timer. Anyway she went 18km down the road and then we're like [geez] (wish they'd change the filters to something shorter lol) it's getting dark and we're really cold we should turn back. So I turn her around (because she didn't have the hang of it) and then ask do you want to drive back or do you want me too? She said for me to drive. So she was about to get up and take the little seat on top of the back rack of the quad, but I told her to stay there and just scooted behind her and kinda like put my arms around her to drive (making my move;)/trying to keep her warm/driving). so then I'm driving back and it's pitch back and the stupid head lights on the thing don't let me see that far ahead of me. I went up a hill that hand a turn at the same time and I must have hit a big rock or something because next thing I know the quad is barrel rolling over us and then next second I'm sprawled on the ground.
First thing I did was get up and run to her to see if she was ok (because it's the right thing to do and I believe strongly in chivalry). That was my biggest worry.
anyways I went to her she was sitting in the road holding her leg and she said she was fine except the side of her leg hurt. so I helped her up and to the quad (which had the back seat completely torn off, a mirror broken off, and a slight wheel misalignment). As soon as I got to it I collapsed. We looked at my ankle under what ever light the headlights would give us and it didn't look broken or swollen or anything. It just hurt so much I could barely stand on it.
We got back to camp and everyone was like "where the heck were you? you were gone for so long" and my uncle was telling everyone that we must have stopped in some field to make out. I said I wish and told them the story. We looked at my ankle under better light and it was 3 times the normal size, completely purple almost blackish, and had a huge bump comming out of the side. My aunt, who's a nurse (lucky me lol) thought I broke my ankle and that it was the bone that was sticking out at first until she examined it further.
It's not broken, just really badly bruised and banged up. Keiko suffered from two minor bruises on her leg and some soreness. I saw her legs yesterday morning (woke her up at my cousin's house) and her bruises have almost completely faded and her soreness is gone.
After 3 days of healing, I look like this:

Bruising has gone down about 3\4 of what it was, and swelling is gone. The bandage is covering a huge flesh wound that keeps leaking... it's pretty gross.
Right leg has just a couple nicks and scrapes and stuff. I've got a nasty bruise on my left arm.
The machine weighs about 800lbs. We went over what happened and figured that with inertia I probably had well over 1000lbs acting on me. The engine is in the back of the quad and she was in front of me, so I pretty much shielded her from most if not all of it.
That was my weekend... how was yours?
Moral of the story: Always wear a helmet, and I'm pretty much invincible.
