It depends on what I'm playing. If I'm playing an RPG, I usually listen to modern celtic music (like The Tartan Terrors). If I'm playing something like GTA, I listen to rap or hiphop. If I'm playing a shooter game, I listen to heavy bass-line music or bands like Pantera.

when im playing an FPS like Halo, ODST, or W@W... i usually put the perfect dark soundtrack on along with the Dark Knight and Batman Begins soundtrack. dont know why but the dramatic feel to some of those songs makes it feel like im in a movie or something like it. for the rest like racing i put on music i drive with like rap (no 90's rap)and some that just pump me up like some techno or another video game soundtrack such as F-Zero X. it just depends how i feel most of the time.
