How to characterize the Day 1 "flavor"? Hmmm … How about this… Popping that Day 1 game disk into the console, cradling that new next-gen controller lovingly in your hands, pulling the trigger for the first time, and going, "Holy CRAP!" as stuff flies everywhere and the explosions burn out your retina, leaving you feeling like you just survived a North Ridge earthquake in your living room. As the sound echoes away, with you lying there gasping for breath (just before the firemen break down your door; rushing in to hose everything down with flame-retardant foam) the only thing you can think is, "I want more of THAT game!"
