Favorite Comics and/or Manga

k, I finally made a section for the comics and manga fans, cause I finally couldn't justify calling our forums a refuge for games and not having a comics and manga section.

And this just didn't fit in the Poem and Prose section.

So I read anything from Marvel and DC including their independent branches.

Been reading a lot of Vertigo's House of Mystery, Wildstorm's the Boy's, The Dark Tower, all the X-men and Spider-man comics, Wonder Woman, Red Sonja, and I have to actually pick up some of my comics lol been so lazy.

On the manga side I've been lax lately. Been reading Death Note, and anything I can get by Tokyopop and a few others. Really like Remote (http://www.tokyopop.com/product/1226), which I actually bought most of the copies off. Typically, I just get mine from the library...manga's and comics can get hella expensive if you add games to that too lol.

On a side note; my library carries games as well. I love my library.

I was never into reading comic books... but recently per Raven's suggestion, I've really enjoyed reading The Walking Dead. It's a great read... and it's about zombies! Oh noez! :D

I'm a big Batman collector, i like a lot of the batman graphic novels, and i love the work of Alan Moore. But right now I'm in the middle of Y: The Last Man, its really good, and i def. recommend it.

I beg to differ, Bucky is an awesome Captain America. He is in no right Steve Rogers but his current story is amazing. I truly give it up to Ed Brubaker, his current run on Captain America is more than great, from the "Death of Captain America" to the current "After Death" arc, it has been astounding.

I don't read a lot of comics, I tend to read more fantasy books, but my favourite Manga is probably Guyver or Ranma. Brings back good memories..... :mvsmile:

don't really read too much comics anymore, but i was big into G.I. JOE and TRANSFORMERS and SPIDERMAN back in the day but I have always loved the Magna Carta artwork, I think it's really really nice

I use to read Witchblade before all the original artists and writers left. I also like stuff by Neil Gaiman (Sandman), or Warren Ellis (Planetary). As far as manga though I read Yuri mostly. I don't really care for the mainstream stuff.

I currently been reading Jojo's bizarre adventure, absolute brilliance. Bakuman is also pretty good I been following that and also Zatch Bell.

Fruits Basket is my #1 choice, Full Moon is my second. I love those two series. Though in the anime for Full Moon, they took the manga, fed it to a paper shredder, fed what the shredded to a paper shredder, then fed those strips to the paper shredder, and then threw it all into a fire. I HATE WHAT THAT PERSON DID TO IT! HATE HATE HATE! I tend to read the mangas now after that to understand the author's work, not the person who makes it into a crappy anime and changes a whole bunch of stuff around. *end of haterant*

Spiderman was my favorite comic series, and Manga is now Higurashi no naku koro ni, I LOVE mysteries!!! This manga/anime/game story intentionally throws you into the confusion but as you go through each arc it explains the huge story in a different way all adding together until you finally figure out what is going on! It's really creepy and twisted when it veers from it's cuteness. I really never have been creeped out by any anime/manga before this haha! Totally recommend this if you like to be thrown into deep mysteries with a really unique way of introducing the main idea!
