hey, I've got a quick tech thing to report.
Here's my problem:
I'll be posting something of length, and when I go to post it, I'll have been logged out. After that, It'll ask me to login and when I do my post may or not have gone through. When it doesn't (especially after writing a poem or giving information important to the topic at hand), it is frustrating to try and write the same response again.
If anyone could help me with this that'd be great.

ummm idk what to tell you but just copy the message you wrote, and paste it if you do log out. Copy and Paste always works for me :D

I'm looking into it, for now just copy and past like BoNe said.

I assume you've checked the "Remember me?" box?
The regular timeout is around 15 mins or so, so if you're writing really long posts, you might get logged out since there's been some time since your last activity.

Write it first, copy and paste.
Its an auto-timeout for security reasons. Couple of options. Gyps, there is something in the back end, give me a yell and I might be able to fiddle around google and find out exactly where. I know i messed with it a few years back in invisionboard because its annoying (and I used to write very long posts...still do at times). Second thing, you can click the 'remember me', and depending on your cookie settings it should keep you logged in. No guarantees, and do not do this if you're using a public computer. Very, very bad.
Firefox sometimes will save stuff in forms like that when you click the back button, if you aren't using firefox, might give it a go round.
And last but not least, just do the copy method, i've been burned enough times before that i only forget on occasion with long posts, but def want to remember.

Thanks Rip....
The time out cookie is set to 900 seconds, after that you are logged out. That should be plenty of time, although I know I sometimes take more like 3,600 seconds to post something. I rather not mess with that too much since we have so many members.
I suggest writing in Word, or whatever you use, saving and then posting it here when it's complete.

thanks for the replies, I just get frustrated when I type something I think is of worth to post and it all gets deleted and I have to retype it. I do Copy/Paste most of the time, but I forget sometimes and then I get mad.
I'm using a private comp, so I'll check remember me next time I log in.
once again thanks for the help.
