well, that's all she wrote folks, sorry the Halo film will be ruined. Hope you didn't get your hopes up too soon :pDepends on how you choose to view this. Everyone's gotta start someplace, and I'd rather have this guy than Uwe Boll. He's pretty new to the game, so this means he got a lot to prove - if this movie will fail, chances are that the rest of his career will as well.
The success of the Halo movie is just as much depending on the writers and producers, with a good story and script he shoudn't have problems getting funding for the movie. Halo 2 is a pretty well-known name, and as long as they don't intentionally promote the movie toward gamers this should be an excellent sci-fi flick for everyone.

I'm still excited, atleast :)

yeah, I was just being a prick :)

but honestly, he's got Peter Jackson helping with it, and some pretty veteran film makers helping, so he's got other's experience to rely on if needed. And it is DEFINITELY better than having Uwe Boll.

atleast Peter Jackson is the producer and the director is lucky to direct a movie liek this.

Seems like they are using some new people for the story and storybord, but the guy writing the story did work on all the Halo games, so I assume we are to get something good. And the screenplay guy is working on an upcoming movie from Wolfgang Petersen, so he probably got some skills as well.

A lot of new people on the Halo movie, but the producer credits should calm everyone down a bit ;)

Interview with the director.

Quint: What's your approach to the film? How do you plan on being faithful to the game while giving the audience something new?
Neill Blomkamp: I think you can be faithful to the game and just begin to layer things that have not yet been seen, over the fabric of what exists. You don’t want people who know the game to see the film and not have anything that isn’t new.

His short films look REALLY awesome though. He seems very creative. Although he has not done movies, he has also done some TV episodes and commercials.
plus,

PETER FREAKIN JACKSON is behind him.

Think about it, Ridley Scott's 1st movie was Alien and he got it because he did that apple commercial.

I'm sure they won't let the movie be ruined. The guy made a pretty good advert. Peter Jackson is a good producer and i'm sure the cast will be good.
