I am sure that any information as to what EA is or is not developing in the software industry or in relation to this job posting will be certainly under NDA, suffice to say, it makes sense for them to improve online gaming to attract more consumers, and there are many ways to do that. As for applicants to this posting, I have no doubt it will be quite challenging, good luck.

If sarg wants to share what information he is permitted to, i would rather have a valid source then rumor and speculation or any information that might break NDA associated with the clan. Thanks :) -Rip

Edit by Raiden: Sorry about that. I tried to keep it as 'generalized' as possible, and as can probably be guessed by reading anything detailed about it that can be found on news sites. I guess I was a bit too specific, thanks for the save though. =)

All I can say is this. My team is working on a pc desktop app. My team has merged with Rupture, and we are now all one big happy rupture.com family within EA. Infer from that whatever you want, just go easy on the rumor mill.

Thats all my plethora of NDA's will allow me to say.. it reminds me of when I was in the warhammer online beta and the rules of the NDA said we could say one thing.

"There is a beta, and I am in it"

ElFi... possibly.. not really my call, up to the divisional Manager. But if a person is awesome enough at what they do, we will make all kinds of accomodations within reason.

Raiden, I'm not sure who or what company you are talking about? The only companies we contract out to is a QA company in Baltimore and a development house in DC.

Are they looking for more than just Java SE?

Work for EA? I'd really rather not sell my soul just yet.

No offense to you or anyone who works at EA. It's the company I hate.

EA is not who everyone on the bandwagon hates anymore... now its the "new and innovative" company, as I heard Joystiq put it on their podcast... "Actilizzard" is the new Dark Empire of Evil :D

^ Yes, like horribly remade physics engines they call "improved versions" of Havok.

*cough*.

In all seriousness though, they are a pretty cool company with a lot of things.. but too massive to really feel there is a "tight knit community" surrounding them (see: Bungie/Microsoft).
