Please pray for my dad

TO ALL THAT READ THIS:

I am asking people to take a moment of time to pray for my Dad. Last night, Sept 7 2008, he had a major heart attack. He was rushed to the emergency room and under went surgery. He is now in Critical condition and Doctors say at this time it is a 50 50 Chance of survival.

I may have a leave of absence I am trying my hardest to find a flight back to Boston. I moved to Philadelphia a few months ago.

still working on getting up there. hopefully soon, Dad is on life support right now they hadto up his breathing thing because he was restless during the night. they say his stability hasnt changed other then that. still critical

Thanks to all for your prayers! I know they are helping here is an UPDATE:

Dad has spiked a fever during the night but they had him settles and ok. They stopped his baloon in his heart to see if his heart would pump on its own. It did. so now his heart is beating on his own, they lowered the resperator and shut it off to see if he could breath on his own and he did. they are lowering the sedation period and he is a bit responsive to family and trys to open his eyes slighty for a few seconds.

My brother asked him to wiggle his toes if her could hear him and he tryed to wiggle them!

He is getting better. they expect him to be alert and hopefully able to eat by tomorrow :). It feels like a weight had been lifted off me and im very thankful for all your support.

Awesome! Im glad to hear things are making a turn for the better.

UPDATE:

Dad is semi alert and is almost able to speak. his throat is rly raw but he able to communicate by nodding his head. his eyes he cant keep open long enough to actually focus due to the weening off sedation. He is tired. Today my older sister asked him if he knew what had happened and if he knew where he was he nodded his head yes and started to cry. A bit later they joked around a little and he laughed a tiny bit before he fell back asleep.

So i guess the outcome of this is looking to be very good :)

UPDATE:

Dad got a headscan incase he had a stroke as well as heart attack, tests so far are negative. My sister gave them permission to put a feeding tube in. Since he has had the feeding tube in, he was wide awake this morning stick unable to really talk but he is almost fully alert. The feeding tube is because he is unable to swallow at this time. They still have to use suction because he cant swallow his saliva and tend to gag a bit, but he is doing ALOT better im so happy!!

OH UPDATE:

Dad got released from hospitals the slurrs in speach are gone hes acting liek his old self again and He is home Well not home home hes living with ym Sister so he has someone to watch over him until he is able to go back to his own house. But hes doing ALOT better. He "died" Twice. once on the way to the hospital they had to refib him. he Said that when his heart stopped and he was "dead" that he could hear everything and Saw a Blue Light. Like bright blue he descibed it as a TV blue when the VCR turns on.. yea haha old school **** but i know what hes talking about. he even had dreams while knocked out in the hospital on life support. He said that when he woke up it felt like the same day he went in but it was really a week later.

Well im sure he will be just fine from now on. hes getting better and the hospital wouldnt have discharged him if he was in any severe state at this time.

I will pray for him. I know how you feel, two weeks ago my dad had congestive heart failure and i rushed him to ER and he actually died at the entrance, but thankfully god was on my side once again (because he's had major heart problems) and they revived him and he is now home again. But my heart and prayers go out to you and you're family!
