Live Messenger wont work

i recently decied to try out live messenger (new msn messenger) becuz many of my friends us that instead of AIM
so i sign up and get my stuff installed and all that
but whenver i try to sign in it says this

You cannot use Windows Live Messenger at this time because your contact list is not available. Please try again later.

Error Code: 81000378

any1 kno wut to do?

I've had this problem before and usually I just wait a little while then sign in. Most times it works, but others it doesn't.
