Xbox live problems

I finally got some microsoft points to buy some DLC for xbox live. But when i tried buying one it said something was wrong with my family settings about blocking stuff. So i went to my family settings, so i went Family Settings -> Xbox live settings then your supposed to put a password along with a email address. But it says i cannot connect to Xbox live. Even though before i wanted to buy DLC i was playing online with people on GH. I've tried calling Xbox people and they said they "Fixed" the problem but when i went to try it again, it said the same thing. Anyone know what to do?:mvshock:

seems like you need to turn off the underage setting...you have to make your account an adult account and nothing is blocked. i think its in parental setting. it unblocks all the features and lets you use all the things that you couldnt have used before..like insant messanger and so on

But wouldnt that be located under "Xbox LIVE Controls" which says I cant connect to Xbox live even though i've been playing for 2 hours online with people. right as i'm typing the password to access it, it says "Cannot connect to Xbox LIVE"

same thing happens to me but oh well i just live with it

either something wrong with my Internet, even though its fine, when we called the Xbox LIVE people they said they "turned my account off" which made no since then said they turned it back on. But still no luck. but, what evs lol, not my prob its the other peoples problems xD

Have you tried running the Xbox 360 network test on the dashboard? If so does it come up with any problems and is the NAT set to open?

Yeah a couple of times to make sure I was online. No other problems with the others and NAT was open

Even if the NAT is open, your ports on your router firewall still need to be open. I mean if your signed in to xbox live, go to family settings, and then the xbox live option, there's really no reason it should be giving you the cannot connect to xbox live error. It could possibly be a corrupted account. For something like that xbox has to really investigate.

Hopefully you don't have a child account, because you can never change that to an adult account, unless xbox changes changes that, which I don't see happening any time soon.
