I just wanted to throw this out to all the iH2O/iPMS members. There is a games expo taking place in Edinburgh, Scotland on the 22nd of August showcasing new games and innovations from a variety of developers and industry people. The event is free of charge for new game screenings but there is also an industry tradeshow the day before (21st) however it is supposed to be for those in the games industry and does cost.
I'm planning on going and checking out the new game screenings but I would also like to see if it's possible to get in on the industry conference taking place and the EIEF Networking Party afterwards. The conference will discuss a variety of things including violence and sex in video games. The after party is a great opportuninty to talk to like-minded people and do some business with music/dancing, drinks, DJs and break-dancing demonstrations and a chance to rock with guitar hero 2 (who are partially sponsoring the event).
Check out the site...http://www.eief.co.uk/
If any of you southerners can be assed to make the trip :p let me know and we'll set something up.

South Shields!!
Hi! I'm Lego and I'm from Wallsend! I was at South Shields for the first time in years the other day (eew, sorry - the market was crud!) I've hardly talked to any of the iPMS iH20 people so hello :) nice to meet you :)
Sounds interesting, although more for people who are into gaming/game design etc for their career.

Why Aye! Small world eh? No need to say sorry about Shields market it is crap. I had no idea there were any iPMS ladies who lived up this way :) Nice to hear from you! I'm part of the US Ghost Recon division (currently inactive atm) and I used to be leader for iH2O for a time...what division are you in?

Yeah it is so I doubt I'll be able to get in cos I'm not working in the industry anymore at the minute but I'm trying to get another qa testing job right now. Plus I don't think it really applies to qa anyways. My plan was to do a bit of networking with the type of people that will be attending about some business. If you're interested in going to see the new games and stuff on show it's only 1 and half hours away on the train from where we are and Edinburgh is a lush place. Hope to talk to you more.

I think it's the first one this year but it's part of the Edinburgh Festival which has been going a while so it's likely to be on next year. Are you visiting/studying Anonymous?

Aye Armageddeon, I was NOT impressed with Shields at ALL!! The amount of charvas was horrifying :|
I'm part of the international PC division, there aren't really very many of us!
Do you play any PC games? CS:S or WoW maybe??
Edinburgh is indeed lush, nice shops and pubs, what more do you need :D
Add me on your xfire: LegoGirl
Hopefully talk to you soon!

Yeah charvas  don't get me started on them.
I'm on my PC alot right now playing football manager 2006. I wanted to play WoW but I've ran out of space on the hard drive, my computer needs an upgrade. I used to play Half-Life TFC and CS with a different clan but I've only played CS:S at a lan centre in shields. I dunno if CS:S works on my pc but I'll have a look.

Edinburgh huh? Now that's an airport I've not been to in a while. Bit short notice for me, but if it's a recurring event I'm definitely up for it next year!

Yeah it is a bit short notice but I'm sure it'll be on next year as well as this one Char. It's not too far for me so I'm just gonna take a look at what goes on and I'll let you all know what it's like.

Hey Armageddon, give it a go: I managed to get CS:S working on my old old computer which had an NVidia Riva TNT2 card - making it the equivalent of a toaster :D If you have your graphics down low, there shouldn't be much of a problem :) I think there's a thing on gamespot which scans your computer and tells you if it can handle a particular game?

Coolio Anonymous, enjoy your visit and I hope you have fun.
Lego, I had a look on Gamespot to look for this hardware scanner you mentioned but I can't find it anywhere..is it seperate from the CS:S page? I'm glad to hear that your toaster ran it because my computer is seemingly made just after electricity was discovered....and I like toast lol :p I just need to get CS:S so I can test this theory.

I know what you mean Anonymous. I felt really at home in Edinburgh when I lived there, I say it's a lot like Newcastle (my home city) but with a Scottish flava. Beautiful looking place and it has a lot to offer.
Sup Strife! Yeah I bet you miss getting pistol whipped by me on Graw :p Things are good but they'd be better if I had a 360 again. I'm getting withdrawl symptoms and frequently I wake up during the night shouting "They're by the pagoda!!" j/k LMAO! I'm missing you all but have no fear I'll be back soon enough.
