What you think of PS3 new shooter MAG

256 players in just one game is crazy Im going to get that game and play it almost every day. So far all i know its coming in 2009 The footage that E3 gave makes the game look really good. I want it now :mvangry:

From the 8-person squads i'd expect only 8 people per squad
but something like 20 squads basiclly the first massivly multiplayer shooter. I'm wondering if there will even be a single player or if it's just all online all the time like warhawk or socom.

I seriously doubt there'll be a single room with 256 people in it either the map would be too large where you hardly saw anyone or too small so that anywhere you spawned was already being camped.

Very promising but i believe it'll be sony's christmas title for 09 so late oct,nov isn't out of the question....remember killzone 2 is
feb 09 so there's already a shooter in the 1st half of the year.
This should be big at next year's e3.

I think it kind of looks like a socom hopefully with that many people at once it don't lag like socom did and hopefully zipper can keep up with this game and don't take forever to come out with patches and all that stuff like they did with socom. Now i know why zipper is not doing confrontation.:mvshakefist:

I'm excited to see this game and blogged about it at my new ps3 blog (http://theps3guide.wordpress.com/2008/07/23/mag-massive-action-game-announced/) lol. I love Socom and to me, this is just like Socom but futuristic with a different title and more players. Hahaha. So I can't wait to get my hands on it, it'll definitely be a title worth picking up in my house.

I'd rather have a game that supports 10 people that is super balanced than a game that crams as many people as possible in one game and pays no attention to balance.

it really comes down to how they make the game, and how much information and the size of the information they send back to the client server.

Anyone here played that massice fps shooter called PlanetSide(Published by Sony btw) on pc? Because it seems to me that Sony is revisiting this concept again with MAG with the help of Zipper.
