Legacy

"Legacy"

Birthed with the right,
left behind with the dead,
the products of life,
written in blood red,

familial bonds
sever and break,
but this is left behind,
allowed to recreate,

a legacy is taken,
a future is made
the creator is forgotten
the memory still fades,

my legacy is left untouched,
my pen still dry
the rain does not yet wet its tip
and leave it's mark behind

sadness is the ink
life itself the canvas,
nothing is written in love
the best is written in madness,

forced to a point,
I have faced the muse,
my life is a blank slate
free space to misuse,

I am human,
but morally decayed,
what happens now when righteousness?
is torn and frayed?

here lies my legacy
resting in its infancy,
the maturing is done,
youth torn to let this eagle fly,

and soar it will
to the limit of the earth,
won't stop until death
resurrected again at birth

On the Canvas,
To the Casket

Ep1k, hey, if you ever need someone to pen a strip, I'd be more than happy to help. Being a cartoonist is cool, but I've never had a penchant for art, an appreciation, not ability :D
