Ok, so I have been having some issues with Microsoft recently. Basically thay cancelled my service because of lack of payment.... I rang up and explained to them that I bought a pre paid card else where and to stop trying to take payment from an expired credit card. Now they're telling me they can't renew my subscription because they have NO CODES!!

I am now 5 days without service and as a result I'm missing practice!!!!

The below link is a blog that my husband wrote for his site, let me know what you think.

Has this happened to anyone else??!

thats weird when my brothers xbox live account ran out due to non payment... it just turned into a silver account... then when the time was right he updated his credit card details and away he went... ( there was an option to redeem code from the voucher you have but you can only can use them once)... if i was you i would demand a full years subsription off them. its not hard they only have to press a button...

I have asked them to give me back some thing for all this drama and they out right refused! I mean they canx something i didn't buy from them! The thing that really annoyed me was the fact that rang out of codes! How can a BIG company like Microsoft run out of codes? They don't even know when they'll get more codes in. So I could be without my Xbox for another day, a week, a month or however long!

Ran out of codes???? That's a bullshit excuse. There are MILLIONS of combinations they can use....hell, even more than that, since they use numbers and letters. 26 letters and 10 numbers they use and you're trying to pass off a story that "you ran out of codes?" I wish some fucker from there would try to tell me that bullshit story.

I'd call back if I were you. That's what I had to do when I couldn't download an E rated demo on my account.....and I'm 16. The first time, they hung up on me..........

my credit card expired and i couldnt update the info because my mailing address is a APO address now which they don't give me that option to put..so i bought me a gold card and my account was suspended..when i tried to put the gold card code in it wouldnt work,,they said i didnt pay them, so they suspended my account, which to me, if they don't get a payment i don't see why they just don't make it silver and not "suspend" the player, how do they know we arent using prepaid cards!! oh i was soooooo annoyed..i finally was able to get a diff. card on the account but it took a long time to get figured out. Of course then i still had a 1year gold card i bought that i couldnt use..which makes me mad that i couldnt return it. I understand your frustration!! (this was a few months back for me)

Oh yea, and they hung up on me the first time because the lady said she couldnt help me if i didnt have another credit card to use, and i kept complaining that i had a gold card to use instead and she couldnt just make my account unsuspended..OHHH i was PISSED!!!

It seems like the #1 way to avoid this is to NOT use a credit card. Also, using a credit card makes it easier for people to steal your account, and more.

^^lol? Credit cards is how you get your credit up so you can buy a house and move out of your parents house, a condo or an apartment. But I guess owning your own property is badddddd... I'll remember that when I'm out on my own.

Well, we don't have an "official" language, even though everyone must learn English. ???

It's kind of sad, when people are complaining about customer service.

You are correct, they are a major company, but they outsource, for their customer service help, which explains why you run into so many foreign speaking CS people.

As for you're issue, it is in a sense believable, considering, Microsoft, limit's point's purchases, even to themselves. You would think, Microsoft, wouldn't have a limit to how many point's, they themselves can purchase, but they do.

It's not the customer service agent's fault, that he wasn't given enough code's to help the large quantity of people, I am sure call in with the same problem as you. As hard as it might be to believe that people don't have the same problem, it is a problem, obviously, because you are having it, which mean's, anyone else can also have it.

I realize, I am not sticking behind you on this subject, but I have personally seen some of the thing's Microsoft does, first hand, and I can believe, that they make massive screw up's like this one.

I have never had any real problems with MS before now. The reason I am so annoyed is because I told them about my credit card before hand and yet they still went and cancelled my Xbox Live. I never knew that it was possible for them to run out of codes.
Fair enough they can limit the amount of codes that they have access to but when they made a mistake, they should be able to request more straight away. It's not like their struggling for money overall so why are they trying to cut costs by outsourcing the expense of their customer satisfaction.

They need to recognise that there is a problem and fix it and fast!

Actually, MS is still recovering from the first xbox.

As for the credit card problem, remember, you don't always talk to the same rep each time you call, so unless they make a note on you're account, then the next rep isn't going to know anything.

I'm sure they limit the rep's to how many codes they can use, and I'm sure they restrict the rep's to how many they can use in a week, or something ridiculous.
