I came so close
Her face faded from my memory
Slowly, but near-absolutely
Alas sometimes victory can be stolen,
be snatched
---- usurped
Life’s cruel irony dealt me a bitter blow,
One night
I lay, peacefully, spread across my bed
I dreamt. Soared.
I believed. Lived.
My happiness could not be measured.
From the abyss, a darkness sought
To corrupt my dreams.
To disrupt my peace,
To defile my happiness
For just then, her face appeared in my mind.

So long it took me to forget!
So long it took me to clear her from my mind!

So many hours I counted down, in heartache,
Just hoping. Just hoping.
Just hoping with all my being that once she was gone,
She would be gone forever.
No.
Whilst I slept; In the midst of my deepest slumber!!
The one place I find rest!
The only place I find escape from the cruel horrors of the world!
The one haven I have from those who, in life, torment me!
I am found! I am beaten!
She is a deep scar in my mind…
my soul…
A constant reminder of my failure
And an enduring, reminiscent reminder of her
of those like her
Dark skin. Dark eyes.
Cold stare. Warm smile.
Free, yet stern.
Lively, yet focused.
Soft, yet confident.

^^A little something I wrote when I had this thing for this girl. I was all bummed out, etc. etc. , everyone's been there and so is the life of a 17 year old. It's really amazing... Glad it's over :mvcelebration:. (and Godddd damnnnn was it depressing...) Tell me what you think. I'm really more of a musician than a poet; a lyricist than a shakespear but I do try. :mvwink:
