I just finished a job and my current laptop is crappy and I'm looking to buy a good laptop for gaming and web design. i will have between 1000 and 2000 dollars. Any recommendations? I'm not going to macland but i have thought about it.

For a while, I considered building my own but laptop building really hasn't progressed as far as desktop customization has :mvshock: as far as I've seen, at least. Alot of my friends are just settling for Dell (maybe "settling" is a bit harsh). They do have some pretty good products and customization and for between $1k and $2k, you could get some good bang for your buck

i found a hp hdx for 1600 with 2.1 core2duo 8800gts 4 gigs of memory and 320 gig hdd should i just buy that

hp is pretty good. As far as computer companies go, I back HP more than anyone else. An HP was my 2nd computer ever and my first brand new computer ever. I got it in 6th grade and it lasted me until... well... 11th grade. Actually, now that I think about it, I factory reset it and now my friend down the street uses it. With a little more RAM and some new components, that thing still runs relatively well for what he needs it for.

^^That right there... sounds like the perfect combination inside the perfect size for the perfect price. Grab that before someone realizes what a steal they're giving you.
