How did you get your player name?

WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL it all started when my mum and dad concieved me ..... 17 years later (when i was 16) i was going to TAFE (Technical And Further Education) (ie adult education... not university thou) and i was doing a greenkeeping course... and we had this teacher who like to make up alot of "out-there" jokes (usually rude subtly or just adult jokes). One lesson he started talking about irrigation and hydroponics and started making jokes up about canibis. well i put in my 5 cents and made the whole classroom laugh for about half an hour with just on-the-spot drug jokes(cant remember any of them). later on that day some guy in my class started calling me markotics ... as in narcotics... so i got the nickname markotics (ooooh yeh if u didnt know my first name is mark )

My original Gamertag was something like Dextrose (I thought it sounded cool) people would call me Dex for short. In a game of Rainbow Six 3 on the map Airport 2 I kept killing this guy called "SuperRandy".
No matter where he went, I'd always be the one who ended up killing him. Even the most random grenades I'd throw would cause "Dextrose has eliminated SuperRandy" (it was actually pretty funny) to appear on the screen. Anyways after about 20 or so rounds of me killing him he said "Dex can you please stop killing me?" while we were in the lobby. A friend of mine said "Your name is SuperRandy, he must be Dex Luther or something. He can't help it."

The next day I signed up as Dex Luther.

3 years later I lose that gamer tag that I love so much because of some customer support agent at Xbox that didn't know what she was doing, and ended up getting my account cancelled.

I'm still fighting them to get it back. I think I should be able to get it back. I have all the info that's on the account, so I can prove it's mine. I've used it for 3 years now, so it's not like I was one of those people who used a 2 month free trial every two months so they didn't have to pay.

Anyone that works for MS or Xbox or knows someone that does that can help me get my beloved gamertag back, send me a PM. ;) I'd love you forever. :D haha

Well about my freshman year in high school i met this group of guys that played D&D alot.... well... One day they decided I needed to come play with them.. I had a little experince in the game from my dad teachin me to play when I was a kid... so i said I would come... I went early that friday to make my character... I say down and with my friend cj we got my character sheet filled out and the only thing left was the name... I thought long and hard about it... Cj through out a couple of words and I would take parts of them I liked and add them in with other words... We had Ollie, RedGuard, Zandenbar... and alot more.... Well he said somethin like Olofo and I thought Olof and then I thought about Redguard's or something from marrowwind... I came out with Olofguard... My friend and I thought it up all on our own... I have stuck with it eversince... I use that name on just about everything... It is pronounced O... loft.... with out the t so lof... and then guard... Olofguard... :D and thats my name... OLOFGUARD!

I wanted a name for my clan and I wanted it to be pretty and feminine. Catalina is the name I chose in High School Spanish class as my class name. My first name is Cathy. When I was trying to come up with a PMS name I had several people suggest things and then Hombre Pajaro suggested Catalina and I thought how cool it was that he would suggest the name I had choosen all those years ago. Plus it had what I wanted, in my opinion, it is pretty and feminine.

I came up with, and registered the nick GangsterPanda at the 29th of November 2005, just a couple of days before I went out and got my Xbox 360. There isn't really much too the name, but we all know that pandas are awesome and gangsters (the 30's kind, not todays blinged-up gangsta (notice - gangster vs gangsta) are even more awesome. And I felt like it was somewhat original, concidering I can get to register with this nick most places, so it seems like not many have thought of it before.

And for everyone's enjoyment, my nick histroy:

1996-1997: Goldman (From Quake (the original), I used to have my armor all gold, thus this lame name)
1997-present day: HellBoy. I actually didn't know of the character Hellboy before someone told me a couple of years later - who on their right mind would name themselves after a 2,5 meter tall and red guy who runs around in hotpants? Oh well, used the nick for so long that it stuck.
2000-present day: DJ Helskjegg. Nick used mostly for a forum that I frequent which is pretty much close friends, and we all got these rather odd nicks. Means DJ full beard in Norwegian
2005-present day: GangsterPanda. Explained above, and used at most the gaming-sites I'm at, as well as anything Xbox-related.

About 3, 4 years ago my friend came over my house because his computer was down and he wanted to make an AIM account. I was sitting there trying to help think of names with him and then he looked at those "Buddy" icons and was like lets name it "yourbuddy". So we typed it yourbuddy and sure enough someone already made that name. He tried adding the number 69 at the end but somehow typed the 3 after the 69 so he ended up making a yourbuddy693 account. A few weeks later i wanted to make a new name so me and my friends decided to be followers and make a yourbuddy691, 692, 694, 695, 696, 697 and 698. I got the yourbuddy697 account and now that is still currently my AIM account. Well then i got comcast and i made my e-mail yourbuddy697 and my yahoo messenger account yourbuddy697. That was my name on the internet and i always used it. So of course i made my first xbl gamertag to be "yourbuddy697" and i still have it but never go on it since i gave it to my brother. No one wanted to call me yourbuddy697 so they always called me just buddy and what do you know? my name is H2o Buddy.

I was in an organized clan called TR Regulators (http://www.theregulatorsclan.com/), and the former overlord TR Dub Fierce had a connection with someone who worked for bungie, and got him to change all our names to "TR-"Whatever. I changed mines to TR Black Dragon(I should re-new that account).The first PMS girl I met who PMS Radical Ed who I miss playin with. And then i met r33hash later on who called me TR all the time, and then everyone else picked up that habit so now im known as TR.

then the summer before halo 2 came out i played a little bit of final fantasy xi online, and wanted a new name...i was bored in church one day as i usually am, and started flipping through the bible for names that would fit the final fantasy xi world...and came upon a few i liked, one of which was Sabaoth

so i did a little research into the word, and found out it basically meant "the leader of armies" refering to God leading the Israeli armies (if that's not entirely accurate and offends someone, my apologies)...and was also told by a friend who knew some Latin that it was similar to a word meaning "salvation"...so since at that time i was planning to be a red mage in ffxi, the meanings fit pretty well, one for the destruction, one for the restoration...

so i played ffxi for about 3 months before it got old, then when halo 2 came out i made the I Sabaoth I tag that i have now...

and it's pronounced Sub-ay-uth...not sabbath...

i've used both names in pretty much every game i've played since...played through morrowind twice, once as blayde wilshire (the name of my xbox), once as Sabaoth...and my screenname on aim is Sabaoth9

Mine I just got because my first gamertag, AsYetUntitled came from being rushed to pick a gamertag and I couldn't think of one. So I ended up thinking up a phrase describing it. I actually really liked it, until it was apparent that people don't know the difference between "United" and "Untitled".

So when choosing my g/t for the next year, I wanted to stay with the same "no name, unknown" theme. I couldn't find any variation of PMS Untitled, Unnamed, or anything like that where it didn't say it was already taken. I put PMS at the end, put in numbers, nothing worked.

Finally as a last resort I put in Anonymous, and it took. I actually ended up loving my name, so here I am today, PMS Anonymous.

I think its amazing how easily your name can be mispronounced... Everyone just looks at my name and thinks Olive Garden ... So I get called olive garden quite often...

No one ever pays attention to the way a name is spelled or even if it could be from another language... They just say what pops in their head when they see the name... Its halarious some of the mistakes people make when callin out names on live... I think it is anyway...

i love dune soo much.. hehe the sound gun kicked butt with the fedaykin being those warrior/assasins heheh and with their ride... a 1km long sand worm hehehehehe oh yeh... the characters use the baby form of sand worms the spice as crack.. and sniffed it heaps.. as well as putting it in food and stuff

i loved dune so much.. i am a fan of it :) i think i have also mentioned it already in these forums.... hehe look in word association hehe ive seen the movie, the remaked in a series.. read half the book 3 years ago..(i don't really read much and yeh i don't realy finish books...) and have looked into nutshell descriptions of the series of dune.. eg. children of dune, etc

My first name was Nini D Nia which I thought of in my first year Chemistry class. The instructor was reviewing a basic concept, so I was bored out of my mind. I decided I needed a name and that it needed to be either really awesome or something that amused me.

I decided that I wanted something from my language, so I search my little vocab that I have left and came up with D Nia for moose, but thought it wasn't enough so Nini popped into my head.

Nini is what adults use to scare kids from running around the woods alone, because it is a scary spirit or something like that. So Nini D Nia sounded really funny to me because it is Scary Spirit Moose.

Nightwish PMS was given to me by my wonderful H2o... H2o Immortal, It is a band called Nightwish. It is a type of Metal and well I never considered Metal Music..never listened to it really. If you can't dance to it, it must not be good lol. But I love this band and the lead female vocalist! Awesome voice! There were many names when choosing my PMS name to pick from and I was confused on which name to go with. It was voted upon from my friends and family. The majority loved Nightwish PMS hence the Nightwish theme, music and name at my myspace.

I was reading the dictionary during English class.

Azrael is typically known as the Arabic angel of death. He has four faces, and four thousand wings. He will be the last to die, constantly recording and erasing in the book of names as men are born and die.
In his book, the names of the d4mned are circled in black and the names of the blessed are circled in light. When a person's day of death approaches, a leaf falls from the tree beneath God's throne with the person's name on it. After 40 days, Azrael severs the person's soul from their body.

**Azrael literally means "help of God".**

Also, it's said that God sent Gabriel, Azrael, and some other archangels down to Earth to take part of the earth for God to make Adam. The Earth pleaded with each one to not go through with it, and they listened. Azrael was the only one who ignored the Earth's pleas and wrestled part of it away and brought it back to God. As punishment, God made Azrael the angel of death, condemned to spend eternity recording names.


I get a lot of crap for having this name cos I don't believe in God. But.. I believe in the concept of God. I believe in there's a higher power. It could be God. Like, it could've happened. I'm not saying it didn't. I just think it's a really cool story.

Well my brother randomly made up Mikotyzini. My sister and I shared that account until I finally got my own... I kept the "tyzini" part. When you say my full name, it sounds like "R-E-O" so I took that + "tyzini" and got Reotyzini.

UltraBlazeX: Blame the random name generator for Xbox Live, I wanted Blaze, taken, I compromised, BlazeX, generator = UltraBlazeX. Had that tag for a year, got a two month called...

DemonSlayerWill: I wanted something cool, and I thought of Vampire Hunter D, a really good anime, but VampireHunterWill didn't fit so I changed it to DemonSlayer. I met my PMS girl DemonGurl at that time and decided to change it to...

DemonPrinceX: I wanted something to coincide with DemonGurl, lacked the foresight to see the princess jokes on the horizon, not to mention the immediate assumptions that Demon and I were a couple, and not all the jokes have been rated PG-13.

DemonFlameX: Variation of UltraBlazeX. Changed the Blaze to a Flame, thought it sounded better, and changed the Ultra to a Demon, cause I hated the Ultra.

Forlorn Will: Not a GT, but something I use around places, Forlorn means wretched, hopeless, and depraved. Will is my name, and it is a pun on the word will, as in your will to survive.

Mine is kinda random. Ive been playing pc games online forever, and have used a whole buncha names, but I chose Apoth3osis for my xbl GT because i like the way it flows (and because of its meaning ;) ).

BrotherDarkness - My brother came up with this one for me, its what Rick James called Charlie Murphy on Chappelle's Show.

Pwnium 18 - its like an element but with pwn or something like that.

JujitzuChicken - GT i came up with for my brother, which he still uses on xbl.

Alright. The first game, online, that i played heavily has to be Diablo II. I have had over 40 accounts throughout my whole D2 career (if you didn't know, there are 8 characters per account) and throughout that whole obsession, i formulated many names. I finally came up with Suffir. It's the spanish verb for "to suffer," and yes, spanish is a portion of my heritage. I made it, i liked it, and it's stuck ever since. Not to mention the name is original, i've never had an occasion where it has been taken.

Chollie: My first gamertag. My ex and his brother (charlie, ollie) put their names together. They got live the day halo2 came out. I took it over in Feb - when we broke up. I bought the xbox, games, controllers, etc because after playing so much halo with them, I became addicted. So, this was in, 05.

After that I made various gamertags, because I hated to be reminded of my ex.. so I used many many 2months.
