No, it's not out yet, but it's coming tomorrow, unless we are to see some delay - which would be weird, seeing that this is now confirmed by the developer.

I've gotten the demo from an OXM demo disc.
Three words about the demo:
the first one: meh
the second and third ones: bad framerate!!!

havent played it yet. but just because you get to "create your own player" doesnt mean it isn't exactly like GTA which it is.
Too much of a GTA clone to interest me. Although the booth was pretty impressive at E3...sadly the game doesn't appear to be so.

I think Saints Row got the short end of whatever stick it was picking. They started developing this game before San Andreas, and then Rockstar came and beat them to the punch... not that thats a bad thing though, I owe San Andreas a good 20-30 hours of my life, if not more. All im trying to say is Saints Row kinda got screwed into being a clone.

I enjoyed the demo alot, but I dont understand why people won't give this game a chance. In my opinion this game does alot of things better than GTA. Hopefully if Saints Row is a hit it will force the developers at Rockstar to be more creative for GTA4.

I played the demo a little while ago via a demo disk as well. I enjoyed it but agree completely when people say its just a GTA clone.
Thats not necessarily a bad thing.. however if, as a game developer, you want to stand out and gain notoriety, you need to provide SOMETHING that makes you stand out.. and if its in terms of improved graphics/scale it has to be a large enough jump to wow the customer.
That being said, its certainly fun... but if you played GTA, you've basically played Saints Row.. and with the plethora of innovative games coming out vying for peoples time and attention it becomes less attractive.
Dead Rising, N3, Wii and related games coming soon on top of many, many more (not to mention the XBLA titles being released lately) and you begin to feel that a game NEEDS somethign above and beyond to warrent your attention and hard earned $$$.
Just my 2 cents. If you loved GTA.. its a great game and lots of fun.. but dont expect anything different.

I'm downloading it or waiting for my demo disc to come. If it's not this I'm getting, then it's definitely going to be APB.

i just played it earlier. I have to say it just sux thats the easiest way of putting its just boring not fun and way too easy lol. Defintily not worth all the fus about but remember this is my opinion yet im just stating i mean if it does have solid online play maybe be decent but i highly doubt it lol

The demo was alright. It was bigger than your average demo (not just in megabytes), but length. It was somewhat enjoyable, but not enough to warrant a second play. Maybe when I'm bored I'll try it again.

I'm with you on this one. I enjoyed the demo quite a bit and I think the game has some good potential. It is indeed extremely similar to GTA, but I think the shooting and the driving are two things that are done better in this than GTA. Being able to create your own character and online play are also two good features (whether the online play is any good is still up in the air of course). I'll more than likely be picking it up, unless they somehow screwed up the rest of the game.
All I can say is, GTA4 better be insanely expansive and good looking come next year, I think they'll learn a lot from Saint's row and hopefully make it awesome. I enjoyed the demo, but just couldn't get into it for some reason. Maybe it was the cars or something, i'm not sure.

There were some decent cars, but I know the best ones will be hard to find in the game. I think, if anything, Saints Row will tide us over for a while until GTA4. I did enjoy some of the missions in the demo, but it seemed like it was just getting to a pretty good one when the demo ended. I got the impression that they were kind of warm-up missions and that the "real" game was about to begin.

Rockstar is using the Table Tennis graphics engine I believe in the next GTA, so I would assume it'll look better.
Saints Row isn't that bad now that I've really gotten in to it. It does some things better than GTA, like make the freeroaming bits feel like you are a freeroaming gangster, people cuss you out in the street (and you beat them up if you want to), you can start a hold up without a special quest or whatever. It also is supposed to have a multiplayer mode on XBL, which I think is pretty innovative considering the genre. I'm gonna give it a chance, maybe a rent, but I won't buy this.
If GTA4 looks anything like table tennis i'm going to cry :-o

Dude...guys.....the Multiplayer!! I'm gettin this game and starting a division. It may be a GTA Clone but it has multiplayer, somethin GTA doesn't have. Just think, car chases, drive-bys, all in multiplayer. SWEET!

I totally agree with you. While the quality of the multiplayer is still up in the air until we actually get to play it, I do think it has potential. This type of a game online could be a blast if done right. I wasn't even considering buying it, but after playing the single player demo I wanted the game. I wasn't blown away, but I saw enough potential that I was intriguied.
ehh since u can go threw the city kinda decent game but i think GTA 4 is what i'm waitn for mainly
