I bought a pelican wireless network adapter a couple days ago and I connected it the way it's suppose to be (i'm not 100% sure but I think I did) but when I go to run the scan for the connection with the wireless adapter (after i've inserted the disk) it says it failed. Any suggestions on why it's not working?

well see what happened was we had a bad storm and it messed up our other router and so mediacom came out and replaced it.. but even though the internet works the icon with the computer still has the red x on it. I think that might possibly have something to do with it..

wireless? I'd avoid using it if possible, wireless = packet loss
if u can't use wired, what kind of router is it?

im not really sure what kind of router it is.. when you look at it all it says is RCA so i'm only guessing..it says everythings connected and working but.. i think i'm just going to call in mediacom to check it back out on the 11th.. i'm going to try to work with it some more though
