Hey, since you're just messing around with filters and stuff, try this out:

1. Make a new file, 400 x 400.
2. Floodfill it with any color. Just don't pick red.
3. Render: Lens Flare
4. Render: Distort > Polar Coordinates > Polar to Rectangular
5. Edit: Transform > Flip Vertical (it's at the bottom in CS2)
6. Render: Distort > Polar Coordinates > Rectangular to Polar
7. Use the Magic Wand tool (hold down shift while clicking in each of the 4 corners) to remove the corners, and you'll have a sphere.
8. Hold ctrl+u to access hue/saturation, and hit colorize to change the color of your sphere.

Hope it works. That was one of the first things I was taught to do in photoshop.

I'm not using photoshop for these. I'm using my Paint Shop Pro 7. but I'll try that out late genesis.
