That game looks amazing. I would definitely uprgrade or buy a new computer just so i could play it. The detail and freedom seems like the best concept of it all.

If it was somehow mulitplayer then I'd want it. But.. "download other peoples' planets and then play single player with them" doesn't appease me.

Though I'll try it out, for sure.

The thing is, how would it be ruined? You'd still get to make your own creatures - it's just that your enemies/NPCs are things that are made by other people. That means that everytime you play, you could potentially have different NPCs roaming the multitude of worlds. With the differences in the creatures and how they interact with the world, each time you played, it would genuinely be a different experience. That is, given that a large amount of people play this game - which I'm sure there will be.

Personally, I think it's brilliant - keeps the game fresh and interesting for multiple playthroughs. The downloads are tiny too - each design is only a few KB. That's part of the genius behind Spore. :) Procedural animation FTW!!

Lemme put it this way. Would you want my ugly creations killing your beautiful organisms? lol I think not :D

not mention the fact that a lot of people might make suggestive monsters, and I'm not a fan of having my precious creations be made extinct by a super powerful race of giant reproductive organs.

LMAO I know right. When I play, I would want a bunch of small cute baby-looking creatures. But if some giant gorilla like thing decides to eat them, I'd be so sad. :(

Hopefully people wont need to upgrade too much for it, as this game deserves to be enjoyed by anyone regardless of their upgrade budget!

and in regards to the sharing of your world/content.. any mechanism built into a game that provides a foundation for community growth is A-OK in my book.

I think its a great feature.. its all in how you use it and who you use it with.. but the same goes with anything pertaining to interaction with other people on a social level.. just look at all the issues with name calling and what not you find in FPS.. are you going to say you'd rather not have compeditive multiplay because you've been tea-bagged one too many times? Or perhaps we'd be better off without voice-com because your afraid of the random 13 year old who will call you fat?

besides.. I dont think someone who gets their kicks out of creating a creature that looks like a reproductive organ will be captured by spore for the long run. You usually find those people gathering around fast paced action games/FPS which provide instant gratification.

There are feedback mechanisms, I think, for rating creatures.

Additionally, there is logic within Spore so that if you make all sorts of cute cuddly creatures, your worlds will be populated with similar ones. Basically, they will try to find people who make creatures like yours to populate your world. Like, they track the way you put your creatures together and populate with people who use similar methods.

I do have a lot of faith in the system, because they have some incredibly brilliant minds working on the game. I wouldn't be too worried about it. :)

SPORE DOES REALLY LOOK INTERESTING, but can you control the a.i fully? or just control parts of what they do( i.e attack this at somepoint...) and make them?

Obviously there will be some limitations, as in the end it is just a game. But for the most part you will be able to control them. Think of an RTS, and thats the level of control you will have.. just with infinite potential in terms of customization and more focus on interaction than a blow-em-up rock-paper-cissors type scenario.

Er... Think of an RTS like -> Supreme Commander. That tis much more like it.
