Well I finally broke down and bought the PS3 I have been talking about doing for some time. With the HD wars going to Blu-Ray and games like Ratchet & Clank only on the Playstation systems I could hold out no longer.
Now it is time to grab some games but avoid the ones that I already own for the Xbox 360 or plan on buying for Xbox like Battlefield Bad Company, which I pre-ordered prior to grabbing the PS3. I am partial to the Xbox as I love the concept of the gamerscore. Sure some say it is cheesy but I believe it adds some depth to the game as well re-playability if the maker has come up with creative ways of earning the score other then just completing a level or collecting X of these and Y of those (like in Assassins Creed).
I grabbed Ratchet & Clank Tools Of Destruction as well as Unreal Tournament III (just could not wait any longer for the Xbox release) but that was all that I really thought was worth the money. Of course the selection on the PS3 seems to be much smaller then the Xbox (about 215 or so current and pending titles on the PS3 compared to close to 350 on the Xbox) and many of the games crossover. I was thinking about getting Resistance Fall Of Man but after that I am at a loss. I was hoping you all might be able to come up with some games either out now or in the very near future that you could suggest.
I prefer shooters and own just about all the current ones like CoD4 and so on.
I do have to say that with the PS3 I truly like that I can download demos to my PSP as well, like the new Clank Secret Agent coming out in June. My youngest (he's 5) had me spending the afternoon downloading some demos for his PSP as well and thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. I have always liked the demo's on Xbox and am glad to see them for the PSP and PS3 as well. Nothing worse then plunking down $65 for a game, plus the gas and time to get to the store since we live 30 minutes from anywhere, only to find the game is the totally jacked.
I do not have a ton of games yet as I said (but I do have a Gamefly account) but if you want to add me to your friends list please do.
