Boy am I glad I checked Nintendo.com yesterday. For the past week now, Toys R Us has been giving away 6 special Mario Themed Items.
You just walk into your local Toys R Us, if you have one, and go to the video game department. If they have the promotion up and running you just have to buy a bottle from Nook.
Write something, send it off to the beach, save and shut down your game and go into tag mode, in less then 10 seconds or so you should get a message saying something has arrived for you. Go back to your town, and look on the beach.
I got all 6 items, plus extras. They are soooo cool.
Here's what all the items are and Chloe's (Nintendo Power) discription of each:
Green Pipe – now I control the piranha plant [mwa-ha-ha].
Flagpole – touch it and the flag slides up and down. Sweet!
1-up Mushroom – I can get all the 1-up's I want. I can't seem to stop, it's so easy and so satisfying: touch, 1-up, touch, 1-up, touch, 1-up …
Starman – flashes and plays that funky invincibility music.
Fire bar – how cool to have that awesome castle sound in my house!
? Box – it's yellow, it's brown, it's yellow, it's brown. Touch it and it makes cool sounds.

I don't have my Lite yet, but ohhhh I feel lucky! BTW, you can keep getting as many items as you want, I stayed at ToysRUs for about 3 hours. Anyway, today is the last day...so RUN!
Oh, and they're worth more trading then selling, for all 6 items, that cheapskate Nook only gives you about $1,500 or so.
I'm sure someone would pay off your house for one of these babies:p
