What is your upgrade cycle like? Do you upgrade once every 3+ years? or more often.
Personally.. i stay away from non-flexible formats such as mATX since they can sometimes inhibit upgrades resulting in more money spent in the long run. However, if you LAN a lot.. the investment may be worth while.
I'm also an enthusiast and love messing with my hardware often, so the added workspace provided by a full tower best suits me.
If you lan a lot, the mATX would be a good choice.
To answer your question in your latest post, it depends on your case. Some cases support mATX, where as others do not. Check any documentation that came with your case, or look to see if the mounting holes on your motherboard line up with the pegs in your case.. you'll most certainly need to re-arrange them if you had a standard ATX in there previously. Physically.. it will fit.. you just need to make sure you can mount it. ;)

Your better off not getting a sempron but for about 250 or so you can get a 4400+ dual core or for about 265 or so you can get a 4600+ dual core and see a big difference in speed as well as multi-tasking. Just really hurting yourself by not giving your computer the full potiential that it should be and you won't have to upgrade again for a while.
