Oh yeah, once you get up to a 30 and play with more than two people, you're gonna almost get modded everytime if you don't get hostbox. It's really depressing...

Like gameplay wasn't ruined before (A.K.A. the first round of modders). This just goes to prove what I've been saying all along. Bungie didn't fix anything with their patch. Proof of that is that modding never stopped, and has now even gotten worse.

they've been modding on beaver creek for about half a year now.

i pretty much am sick of cheating. it's just the love for halo and my friends that keeps me going.

I got modded on coag once. The worst thing about it was that they were on our team, which made the other team think we were all cheating. Kinda pissed us off.

I get modded all the time... Once I got my 34 i started bridging to get host to keep from getting modded on... then i realised that was almost as bad as modding in itself so i just quit and de-leveled.

^^^ I do that so I don't get cheated too. But I'm not the one doing it, I have a friend that does. Other than that I don't. I like to do double team with my b/f and own the little nublets. ^-^

Oh and one time on Containment some guy on the other team was modding , and some how it made us (on the opposite team) mod also... like just randomly one of us would start goes 20x faster than everyone else xD by the end of the game the modder on the other team was threatening to report us for modding x.x

i'm a 26 double team, i went 4 games in a row getting standbyed and modded

i was a 28 DT, and within about 30 minutes i'd gone down due to the scum of H2:mad:

although there are some honorable people, but technically its cheating, i was in a game with a modder and a bridger on sanctuary and the bridger blocked the modder so he got booted out so it was a fair game (of sorts) we lost, but it was the right thing to do eh?

yea, thats what i had to do with my hardcore level.. i bridged myself host and lagged out the modders but i got flamed almost as much as the modder, so i just de-ranked and left that H2 drama crap behind...
To be honest, I didnt realise that Hardcore was that full of modders until i got to about 27 (and thats not even that high of a level)

We had that problem with a modder on Sanctuary in a Team Sniper game. The modder was horrible though. His entire team got lagged out and he stayed till the end. He siad he deserved it. It was great! :D

This will definitely be less of an issue in halo 3 if they code for dedicated servers. This guy probably isn't the first to it, just the first documented case. I've had some strange ordeals happen on cd/"old" maps myself.

Halo 2 has been on a down slope for a while now, if it's not a bridged host, it's standby, if not standby then modding. Even if someone doesn't cheat, if their "host" doesn't like you, you're in for a crap game anyway.

That's why I like unranked games best, you don't get that many modders and the attitude isn't as serious. Also why I'm grateful they haven't made Team Sway and BTB Slayer ranked yet, they're my two favorite unranked games.

EDIT: unfortuneatly i've been cheated in Team Training, Team Actionsack and Rumble Training...its sad that people cheat for ranks, but even sadder that they cheat for nothing.

Team-Swat used to be my fav. gametype but as of late everyone has been taking it alot more serious :[ not as relaxed as it was in the begining...

sadness when you mention Team Skirmish. A while ago I used to team standby for my level. I no longer play Team Skirmish because the guilt is too great. I feel so bad about it and I never want to do it again.

i dont like cheating, i really feel bad if i win a game due to someone on my team cheating, i remember when i used to lose a game if i won via cheaters, i dont do that anymore though as i dont play MM as much as i used to

Technically De-leveling can be seen as cheating also. You're basically cheating the ranking system. Giving the other team a free game (or in other words boosting their rank), and you're bringing your rank down. Not to mention that playing against a team that's deliberately losing is no fun, so you're cheating people out of an enjoyable game.

Lets say you're level 20 and delevel to 15 (Just for the sake of smallish numbers). When you actually play against someone that's a legit 15 you're better than them. The MM system put you against them because you deleveled, so it's an unfair match. You're cheating that person out of a fair game. fun. and cheating the ranking system.

I'd go into more detail, but I don't feel like it right now.... TIME TO JUMP IN THE POOL! MUHAHAHA.

Don't de-level. If you don't want to get modded/cheated you have two choices:

1)Stop playing Halo (recommended)
2)Play Custom games

People have been complaining about cheating on MM since Halo came out. Why people go back to MM anyways really puzzles me.

People need to get their facts straight.

1. Its always been possible to "MOD" Halo2 maps. People have been modding them even BEFORE the game came out (Leaked French Version)

2. People only introduced Halo2 modding on XBox LIVE when the downloadable content was released becuase the maps were on the harddrive and could be modded once and kept on the harddrive after the modchip or softmod was turned off. If one had a modchip or softmod ON during a match on XBOX LIVE they would instantlely get banned.

3. Now that MS released the Xbox 360 and people have been able to mod it (via firmware hack) People have the ability to play burnt games on live - since MS hasn't released a patch for it. EXAMPLE: George has a modded version of HALO 2 where everybody in multiplayer looks like the PROPHET character. He can now play it on live if he has - 1.) Correctly burned the Modded Version onto a DVD+R DL 2.) XBOX360 with working Hacked Firmware (DVD DRIVE) 3.) XBOX LIVE

4. The best way to get rid of modders on "OLD MAPS" (mainly) is for Microsoft to start banning people for using hacked firmware on the XBOX LIVE.

BTW -
XBOX 360 firmware hacks have been available for months! It's really easy to mod your xbox360, people just have to be willing to risk their money. So as more and more people gain trust in their skills, the more and more people will be doing this unless Microsoft puts a stop to it.

I am not a Halo2 modder nor do I condon modding on XBOX LIVE. I just thought I would settle some undisputed nonsense that was getting flinged around. If anyone has any questions just ask. (And No - I wont help you mod your 360 or even point you to any sites)

Speaking of de-rankers. I just got a DR on my team in snipers. We still won though, I set my handicap to severe adn when he threw a grenade for a suicide i ran up behind him and got betrayed = booted...then we started only 4 kills behind.
