Ok basically im upgrading my computer with a new motherboard/graphics card/ram/power supply/heat sink

This is what im looking at:

RAM/Motherboard/CPU:Clicky (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3557020&Sku=MCM-680ILT-Q6600A)
Graphics Card:Clicky (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3510472&Sku=B52-8806)
Power supply:Clicky (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2441945&CatId=2036)
Heat sink:Clicky (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2943299&CatId=493)

Ok im 100% sure im getting the first 3 links but the problem is that the motherboard doesn't come with a heat sink for the CPU and i really don't know if the one i picked out would do the job or not. It has good reviews but im still not really sure about it probably because of the price, just makes me worry its going to be cheap and flimsy.

The Power supply im quite confident about because of its reviews, the power supply i was originally looking at had several reviews of the fan dying and another review of some faulty parts.

As for the graphics card theres not much to say its a graphics card but id like to keep in the 8800 GTS series, i really don't have a problem as to dropping down to the GT but i would like to stay with GTS, the GTX series is just to much for me at this time.

Several of the items im looking at have a price deadline of 4/30/08, and the MB/RAM/CPU bundle also is running on the same deadline. If anyone can help me or inform me about the items im looking at i would be very grateful =)

Edit: By inform me i mean point me towards better products with reasonable pricing and/or if some of my choices are not necessarily the best even on a budget.

Also one last thing the CPU is using socket 775 and the Heat sink im currently using is Clicky (http://www.coolermaster.com/products/product.php?act=detail&tbcate=152&id=232) so reusing my current heat sink is out of question as it is not only ment for a AMD model but is also using sockets 754/ 939/ AM2.

Well, the cpu/mobo bundle is decent. The mobo is a tad iffy, but should work fine for the most part. My other suggestion, go to NewEgg.com. And DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT get the rebates. Such as on the video card, if you do, you are losing a free lifetime warranty.

SeaSonic M12 SS-600HM ATX12V / EPS12V 600W Power Supply (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151030) - $149

EVGA 512-P3-N845-AR GeForce 8800GTS (G92) KO 512MB (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130337) - $239

Tuniq Tower 120 P4 & K8 CPU Cooler (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835154001) - $49

You will find better deals on NewEgg more than half the time. Seasonic is possibly the most reliable power supply manufacturer, and that 600watt by Seasonic will be fine for even an SLi'd 8800GTX system.

These are my recommendations. Also, keep in mind TigerDirect is EXTREMELY iffy with purchases.... They have issues with garauntees, warranties, and returns. Fry's, NewEgg, or ZipZoomFly are possibly the best places to find your parts. In fact the Q6600 retail was selling for $180 with a special instant savings.

Plus, even if you do still get the rebate with the vid card from NewEgg, the price is $209 after rebate. And it's eVGA, which is known for it's excellent warranty and customer service. And with that Tuniq Tower hsf, you will have room to overclock with :) Also, don't forget the Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100007).

Forums.Ageofconan.com (the main reason why im really upgrading my computer... well besides the fact that i havnt really upgraded it in about *thinks* 3-4 years lol)

The information and parts I have provided are for reliability versus what others recommend. Ultra power supplies has a slight failure issue, so don't really recommend them. There are other psu companies that are good, such as Corsair, Thermaltake, FSP Group.

You can purchase things from 2 seperate places. Just order the bundle from TigerDirect and the other parts from NewEgg. But just remember, from companies such as XFX, eVGA, BFG Technologies, you will get a free lifetime warranty as long as you don't use a mail-in rebate on those parts. It's more than worth it, especially if a year later your vid card dies, they will replace free of charge(except shipping TO them, they pay to ship it back to you).

if I had to suggest a graphics card, I've heard some good things about the 9600gt
9600gt (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130330)
its a bit cheaper than a 8800 and I've heard its better because of the new gpu
1gb version (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130345)

The 8800GT is faster than the 9600GT..... The 8800GTS (G92) is faster than the 8800GT.

huh weird, I recently went from a 8800gt to a 9600gt but I noticed an increase not a decrease
and not just a minor increase, like 10-20 fps higher on average

Probably because your processor is your bottleneck and you notice a difference with the 9600s lower amount of stream processors.

You may go to a review site and read about the differences. The 9600GT runs rather slow on shader intensive games such as Ghost Recon 2 for example. The 8800GT is just the smarter buy, the 9600GT if you are on a rather tight budget.

The 9600GT of course isn't a bad buy, especially upgrading from an older generation card, and the price is great for those with a slightly small budget. Which is why I may grab one myself. The 9600GT tries to make up for it's lower amount of shaders with it's higher clock speed. If you were to oc the 8800GT you'd get an increase there too :P

Plus, this is $10 cheaper than the 9600GT even right now at NewEgg, the 8800GT. eVGA GeForce 8800GT (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130318) - $174

Actually, you can think of it like that really. The 9600GT is like the ATi/AMD Radeon HD3870. And the 8800GT is, better :P

its faster than the 9600gt and the 3870 benchmarks higher than the 9600 in 3dmark 06

If only the 9800GX2's were cheaper
http://tankbusta.net/pix/random/101_8822.JPG

If you can, get two 8800GT's in SLi. They are amazing!

I'd go higher than a 600W, maybe 700W?

If it's a quality power supply, 600watts is more than enough... 500 will do even. Just depends on how good the psu is. I'd try and grab a Corsair 620HX if you could, very reliable, just not the cheapest on the market :P

Sorry i havnt been back but i already bought all my parts i picked up a BFG 8800 GTS OC, Cosair 550W Power supply with 8pin and 6pin, bought the bundle i was talking about and got a Antec 900 tower.

Im currently just waiting for parts now though the power supply/heat sink/and Graphics Card i purchased from a local Frys Electronics... got a pretty good deal on the tower at buy.com ontop of free shipping i also gained a 10 dollar discount by purchasing from google check out so i got the tower for 89$ instead of 99-134$ that other sites were advertising.
