Ahh! I'm late to a new person thread!!!
Come scrim with us any time, we chill out in the Team Fortress 2 channel on PMS/H2O vent every night.
Also, I played on a competitive team with a guy almost your age, my friend's dad is a hippy who plays Day of Defeat, and another friend's dad is a cop who played Diablo2. They're all super cool guys, so, in my experience, guys in their forties who play PC games are awesome.
