another XBOX360 problem =/

lately my xbox360 has been scratching my game disks while i play them in the system. when i take the disk out you can see scratches going around the disk so i know the scratches did not come from me. now my cod2 disk has so many scratches that sometimes the disk will get an error and wont play. any one know what is wrong?some ppl say it might be over heating and to buy a fan but i dunno. i already had to return the first xbox360 i got because it was doing the same thing. now my new one does it also.

yeh i checked all my cds and nfs iz tha one that has a ring around it. but my halo 2 cd has been messing up tho. like sometime ill play and itll just freeze 4 no reason. I was thinking that it was the heat but no the 360 was fine.

I dont kno cuz last night it crashed wen i was playin chrome hounds.

I doubt it's an overheating issue. Are you by chance moving the 360 at all while it's running a game?

no no no. i did that once with my kameo cd and i heard the most awfullest sound. but no ive never moved my 360 while havin a cd in it.

if its not the overheating thats doing it, then i cud only think its the actual cd rom drive. im not gonna send in my 360 cuz im not having major problems with it.

lol the most awful sound. yeah sometimes when it is loading you know when the disk starts to spin faster? when it kicks the disk? you can here it scratch it sometimes.but basically thats the only problem i have and i dont wanna send it in to microsft and be out on an xbox for like weeks =[. i talked to other ppl and they say theirs does the same thing also.its really upsetting though. you pay all this money for the system and it destroys thegames you play on it.

u kno wat u shud do tho. ask microsoft if they are havin problems like this with other. lets not talk about there customer service but u shud complain. remember that if ur gonna get this resolved tha right way, u wanna be transferred to tier 2 or 3 i believe

uhhh....just call 1-800-4 myxbox

wen u talk 2 tier 2 or 3, that wen tha lower divsions cant help u out. i mean if u keep on having that problem, u shud talk to them. Just ask them if ur problem can be resolved with any higher authorities.

Also do they keep sending u a refirbished one or iz it new?

Just take your disc and have it resurfaced. Only costs a few dollars and comes out looking brand new. The problem I have with my 360 is the stupid thing cracked my COD2 disc :mad: I know 2 other people that have had the same thing happen to them. I can still play it, but I have a helluva time getting to load that first time when I turn my 360 on. There went $60 down the drain :confused:

Sometimes when you take out a game and you're not too careful, it can cause hairline fractures along the disc. Slowly it spreads and worsens especially when you put it in the 360. It spins so fast that the hairline fracture splits the disc to cause a crack. You're lucky it didn't explode in the drive and ruin your 360!

whats the use of getting it resurfaced? its just gonna keep on doing the same thing over and over again. might as well fix the problem.but anyways i am gonna try and get it resurfaced so that it will actually play the disk.=]

If your 360 is still scratching your games, you might wanna make sure that the surface your 360 is resting on is level. It doesnt have to be perfect, but if its too far off, that could be causing your disk scratching problem. And as for cracked disks... never use them. One time I had a cracked cd running in my cd player and it the cd exploded, and ruined my cd player... and cd drives dont run nearly as fast as the dvd drive in the 360.

Different product but i had to send in my phone at least 5 times. It seemed like they kept sending me the same one over and over again.

But u shud definetely complain and tell them to send u a new 360 not a refurbished one

One idea on the 360, there have been lots of reports of the 360 damaging disks when the console is not laid out flat in it's normal position (although Microsoft brags you can use it in any position). My best advice is to use it in the default position from now on, and if you keep having the problem send it back into Microsoft.
