You need to use the wireless adapter or plug into the router physically.
I don't trust windows in bridging connections, bridging is not meant for a computer, it is meant for a dedicated network device.

Yeah, where i normally play (downstairs), is where the router is so i can plug it straight there. but the TV isnt the best. and so when i try move it to a HDTV upstairs, the only way i can connect it is through the laptop :/

I have that same problem, but I just put the laptop in the DMZ in my router and it works just fine with NAT on Open =)

Yeah, my laptop is wireless to my router.
so its like
router > laptop [wireless] > xbox [wire]

It is never a good idea to put a PC in the DMZ. Your PC/laptop should always be under a router for protection are they are the best firewalls that exist.

If you connect directly to your router you get the best connection you can get.
I tried doing wireless on cod4/xbox 360 and only got 1-2 bars, connected it to router and I always have 4 bars.
Just drill a few holes threw some walls and buy a long ethernet cable, you may want to get two connections so you can switch from upstairs to down stairs.
(The cables aren't that expensive, around 10-20 dollars)

Yeah, when i get my insulation in my conservatory done, ima move my xbox into there. [atm its freezing in there] lol
But i dno how i would connect it :| I wont have any money for the wireless thingy :/
and its too far from my router to reach, itl have to go through the kitchen and that, which i doubt my dad wil do :/

Whats a DMZ? :$
demilitarized Zone
A part of the network that is neither part of the internal network nor directly part of the Internet. Basically a network sitting between two networks.
What i would say to do is just run a nice long 100 ft network cable its simple it under 30$

A good way to understand a DMZ...
You have your Router, that acts as a firewall. Your router protects the network under it. When you put a host in the DMZ, you are segmenting it off from your network and exposing it to the internet. DMZs are used for webservers, not for personal computers.

If your using a router now Arun, go to the router homepage using the IP and place your 360 out of the DNS firewall, thats what i did and my NAT is open now:)

Once connected, you will be prompted for a username and password. The default username is 'admin', and the default password is either 'admin' (for software before v6.2.6E), or for later versions, the password is your unique Home Hub serial number.

None of the ones with the red ring around them, the serial number is the first one that says "S/N"
So I think:
Username: admin
PW: CP0647EH6DM

You can also reset the router in the even that the username and password has been changed, though I would advise against it unless you have your setup CD, or understand networking.
Also, if it does turn out to be the default, it is in your best interest to change the password on the router ASAP, as WEP and WPA encryption are extremely easy to defeat.

What kind of router are you using? You need to go into either your modem settings and open up IP passthrough, or go into your router settings for nat/gaming and open your ports for xbox which would be 88 to 88 and then make another open port from 3074 to 3074 so that you can have an Open Nat and not moderate or strict. If you need any help doing it you can message me here or on xbox (XclusiveChic) Hope it works for ya.

I was trying to play Halo with my friend last night, but we couldnt connect to each other cause his NAT was strict and mine is Open, so, all he did was enable his UpNp on his router and whallah, his NAT was open, try that ArunKK:)
