I havent seen a thread on this and I think it would be a good way 2 understand how other ppl got introduced into the gaming world. For me personally when I was like 5 my grandma bought me a super nintendo and i played games like NFL gameday and super mario lol good times. And the game i started online with was madden 05 on ps2 . The whole online expereince got me pretty addicted and I must say ive played way way more after that then i ever did without online

Well I was playing atari and Nintendo and such but the game that introduced me to online play was Tribes Aerial Assault for the ps2 and in my opinion is still the best FPS shooter I have ever played. Just all around a good game, No one side had a advantage, the weapons were the same for both teams and it took great amount of teamwork to succeed. You had your base defenders who kept your gens up cause without your gens your turrets could be taken down cause they wouldnt work, the vehichle station was down. You had your missle defenders to take down vehichles and people as they flew in. Your flag runners, your assault plane guys, your base disruptors, just a great game all around.

Oh, my first gaming experiences were with my cousin in our grandparents basement, we racked up so many hours in Super Mario World, which was my first game, and I still love it to this day.

As for online gaming, I'm pretty sure Diablo was the first game I got into for playing online with other people.

Well, I have four older brothers who always played fighter games and such when I was a baby. I started playing games like Duck Hunt and Mario and things for the Nintendo -- then moved on to the Super NES and played things like Killer Instinct, Mortal Kombat, etc. From there, it just exploded... Road Rash, Skitchin', NBA games, Madden, ThemePark, Pitfall... you name it, I played it. I had Sega Channel; $15 a month and you get like 30 games or something like that.

When I was 14, a guy I really liked played a ton of Socom and I was playing Counter-Strike with my old all-female clan. I didn't want anything to do with online play for consoles, but he made me get it and I fell in love. Not with him, of course (har, har) but with Socom. Now I'm all over the place; PC, 360, PS3 and the occasional Wii.

Duck hunt lol My mom and step-dad bought us (myself and my step-siblings) a Nintendo when they first came out (the original one..I'm so totally old) so I guess the first game I ever owned was Super Mario Brothers...again the first one. But before that I seem to remember playing Frogger on the Atari at my step-grandmother's house.

We then got a Sega-Genesis and some of my best memories of my little brother is when he was 8 and I was 16 we would play Sonic the Hedgehog and Mortal Kombat together, while we sprawled out on the living room floor with the stereo up REALLY loud.

My introduction to online gaming came at about 23 when my boyfriend at the time showed me EverQuest...for those of you who have no idea what that is: its basically what World of Warcraft is based on. I started playing shooters after I got married and moved to Canada and my husband and his buddies were hooked on Socom. Now I'm much better at shooters than he is *smirks*.

When I was 2 years old, I kid you not, my parents bought me a Sega Genesis and I played Sonic 24/7. I actually beat the game and by the time I was 4 I was plugging my game consoles into the TV myself. That is kind of ridiculus, being so young, but my parents always remind me of when I'd go to family houses and the older kids never let me play because I was so young. After I complained to mommy and daddy (I was 2-3 at the time so I'm allowed) they let me play... And I basically owned them.

Sonic owns you ok? So now that I am 17 turning 18, I've roughly played for 15-16 years. Started out on console, and staying on console. I have played PC, but never played FPS on PC. FPS is only for Console for me.

My Dad had an Atari, and I started out on Pong and Frogger. From there, I moved to the NES, playing Mario, Battle Toads, and other various titles. For Christmas when I was six or seven I got an SNES, and was playing all of the Mario titles on it. When I turned 12, I got a Playstation, and my very first game for it was Final Fantasy VII, therefore I fell in love with the RPG genre. We upgraded to a PS2 when they came out, and I continued my love of RPGs. Then, my brother bought an XBOX and we started playing Halo. I wasn't very good, so at first it didn't appeal to me. A few years later, I got a gamecube, continued with RPGs, especially Legend of Zelda titles and such. Then, I joined the Army about a year ago, and from there, I started playing Halo 3. I've been in love with H3 ever since, and it doesn't help that my boyfriend is an avid H3 player himself. :mvboogie:

Through my son, who was perhaps 7 at the time. He played Halo and some other games on the PC back then. I got my own PC over 3 years ago and gave Halo a whirl--had a blast, but had issues using the keyboard and mouse. Finally got an original Xbox, and the rest is history!

I love your question, what a great way to see how it all began for all of us!

I started when my mom brought home Pong, and it was all over from there!:mvreallyhappy:
Through the years I have loved all types of video games, Diablo on the PC, Final Fantasy VII on Playstation, Mortal Kombat on Sega.

My husband introduced me to the Xbox. I had been a loyal Playstationista, but I am a changed woman now! Through this introduction, I have found a deep love for CoD4, and FPS games in general.

My husband is a gamer too, and we can mark our histories, both personal and as a couple, by the games we were glued to at the time. :mvgiggle:

Thanks again for the question :mvwave:

I was introduced to vids really young (1 or 2 years old) through my brothers. They got a Super Nintendo and let me play with them. When I got a bit older like 4 I started watching my brothers play games like some of the first FF's and I think that Zelda (N64) was my craze. I really can't remember too much about when I started playing some of the N64 games it must have been around the time when I was 4-6 or 7.

I think the time that I really started gaming a lot is when turned 8. My brother set me up on Halo on the campaign level Assault on the Control Room. Me and my best friend Jeremy have been play Halo since that day.

Oh ya and before Halo I play a ton of Black and White and Starcraft.

I was given a 386 computer and some games, like Castle of the Winds, Descent, and Duke Nukem, on floppy diskettes. Later on, I bought an NES with the original Final Fantasy and dungeon maps/monster charts from a garage sale for $20.

Well...I was afraid to confess, but thanks to Club Sammich's honesty:mvreallyhappy: here goes: I, too, started out playing "Pong" at about 10. The next game "system" I owned was an Atari..Space Invader/ Centepede princess all the way:mvsmile: You know it's really bad when you go to Vegas for the first time in your life (summer before last) and you find yourself on the strip at the gaming place in front of a Centipede game!

Anyway, then I grew up and had 4 sons...who required Sega Genesis, NES, Super Nintendo, Dreamcast, N64, and XBOX. It was really when the boys started having Halo LANS that I got interested in gaming again (I'm going to totally disregard all the lost hours of my life playing Super Mario Brothers and Dr. Mario:mvgiggle:), and then sure enough...I was the oldest gamer in line jumping up and down at a little before midnite to buy Halo2 and get my first XBOX Live account...and the rest is PMS history:mvpmsh2o:

I have to say I was grounded from outside the house. I was over my grandma's this was the time I didn't pay much attention to the nes.... I popped in Mario/Duck Hunt and a gold light appeared and thats how I was hooked...

For my online I went through alot of hell trying to try it out. For one thing I had Dial up which the connection was very bad. My first game was Phantasy Star Online I could not hook up to the server for almost 2 years. When I finally got on and hooked they closed the server down. So the first official game I started was Diablo 2.... The game was fun but got cliche.... So I tryied other games such as Knights Online, Ragnarock, Conflict, and then I met FFXI... Well that passes the question now... I now have dsl which give me problems time to time but it passes through :-)

My mom bought me the NES, back in 1988 or so.
She bought me 30+ games for it, and considering they were $50 for each game, that was a lot for the time. Her favorite was Casino Kid.

My mother then bought a PC, we started out with AOL when it first came out.
I remember wanting to get Windows 95 when it came out, but we were still rocking the Windows version b4 that.

We now had Windows 98, and in 1998, my mom brought home 2 PC games for me, Tomb Raider Gold and Starcraft.

I played Tomb Raider first cuz of the box cover, obvious reasons for a 15 year old.
I then found out it sucked bad after the second level, and I quit it.
I then popped in Starcraft, and 10 years later I am still playing it, and it also happens to revolve around my job.

My dad had a Super Nintendo (love mario) and my sister and I played the heck outta that when we were yonge. I had a N64 as well I played 007 and Didy Kong racing. I forgot about video games in my teens and didn't even know what an xbox was until I meet my boyfriend of going on 4 years now. We started playing Halo 1 together and I've been madly in love with him and the mater chief since then. He doesn't know it yet but there's going to be a mater chief at our wedding.

I started with the NES that my great aunt and uncle bought me when i was like 4. I think my first game was like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. After that it started getting expensive. SNES, Sega Saturn, PS, N64, PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, and PS3. O and I did do PC gaming for awhile in there. Besides playing PC online I think my first console online game was Halo 2. O I forgot... I did have a Dreamcast. What a great buy that ended up being.
