ok so I'm finally buying a 360
i need to know everything i am going to need to buy and where is the best place to buy it all (uk) also i was wondering how you go about xbox live, how you pay for it and then when you got it can you just plug an aj45/ethernet cable staight to your router?

If you get the pro version it comes with an ethernet cable you can plug straight into the router. for Xbox live you can either buy a 3 month card, a 12 month card, or when you sign up for Xbox live and you have a credit card number on your account info you can choose to have a $5 per month charge for xbox live

& make sure it has the Falcon chip in it (Elite version l'm sure of). To have that chip, it's gotta be made duing this year.

The falcon chip is being used to help prevent overheating, but won't stop it completely. The lack of proper detection and system shutdown is one of the main faults.
The "repairs" that are going on, really aren't repairs... they are installing one additional heat sink and another processor fan; the issue still exists with poor ventilation and poor motherboard design. As stated by Microsoft "it is an engineering problem".
