PS3 - COD4 - 'Downloading Game Settings' Crap

Hi All,

I have a 60GB PS3. This machine is a tank! It never freezes andworks it's shiny black booty off! That is until this last update and COD4. They have not been getting along at all.

Not much but "Downloading Game Settings" or it will get me into a game and hard freeze. Controller stops working and I have to get off my lazy ass to fix it - me no likey.

So, anyone else have this problem? Any advise?

I've been playing since around Christmas. The first time I played the game it did this for about an hour. Then never again until last week or so...what is going on?

WHAT?!?! How is that red ring of death treating you? I mean no direct insult but Microsoft blows.

I have heard after reading on a few other forums that this is a server issue. Essentially when the server you are connected to freezes or hiccups it can (worst case scenario) cause a freeze of your system. Again, this is just what I have been reading. Anyone else have the PS3 know how?
