"My home"

Everyday,
I walk through the doors of waking light,
I wipe unconsciousness from my eyes,
I look around, to see where I am
and am relieved by the sight I see,
I see my home,

My friends exist as memories here,
my family dwell here,
but besides the cold gripe of death,
there is no greater sadness
than questioning your place,

at first my home was new, inviting,
everything flowed with naive ease,
bearing child's mind and innocence,
but now I question my purpose,

I left only once before,
I grew dissatisfied with my home,
I may have left some in tears
but I doubt they cared enough to shed,
shed their thick skins and open their emotions,

everything is a blank slate
watching dust collect on its face
spiderwebs issue out when it speaks,
and timeless wisdom is heard when it spouts its words,
but amidst this wisdom is a terrible fact

one must grow up sometime,
one must move on at a point,
I don't want to leave
I love those in my home,
but as much as that love burns

the practicality of it all is suspect,
the point of everything is moot,
loading myself onto the bullet
and shooting my way into your heart
and passing through with a bullet's ease,

I'm so sorry my home,
memories must become memories,
ashes shall be ashes,
dust shall be dust,
and my childhood ventures must be laid to rest,

Goodbye.
