what pc games to buy?

ok this week i will be reciving 50-60 dollars im not too sure of what i want other than the fact i want to play the game online but the bad thing is my pc is not the greatest click my xfire and check out my gaming rig to see for your self well i was hoping i could get some suggestions they would be appreciated i'd like to get a fps or a rpg im sure you could help me out

well F.E.A.R is an awesome fps with what i heard (havent gotten the chance to play it) the scariest single player ever.

and for rpg's im not really sure, oblivion though lol.

lol. F.E.A.R is allright. Prey is pretty good, BF2 is...meh...i have it but the load times and lag made me sadly let it go. Haven't been any really hyped PC games lately.

Hm...speaking of PC specs, yea you wont' be able to play BF2 or F.E.A.R. Halo PC probably but it won't be spectacular. Video card at the least needed.

Flipnomad, your rig also could use a good bit of updating, i doubt you're seeing anything like what F.E.A.R has to offer, and i wouldn't even try oblivion.

I am getting a new 256MB X1600 PRO AGP 8x slot graphics card with extra gig stick of ram for my B-day, yeh it will fly with colors in FEAR definatly.

your CPU will be a bit of a bottleneck at that point then, with prices dramatically dropping on AMD prices (announced price cuts up into the 50% + range) you might want to look at getting a faster CPU as well. Depending on what your socket can support of course. X2 3600 might do the trick (don't know the price offhand). Compatibility checks are a must of course.

Considering your rigs specs, I would pick up UT2k4. You run source on your machine just fine, you should be alright with UT2k4.. and its an awesome game in terms of online multiplayer. (you can probably even pick it up at a bargain price seeing as its been out for a good while).

If you like MMO's with PvP might I recommend Lineage2. The interface is pretty clunky at first, but once you get used to it its great fun. I recently started playing it again on a private server (don't need to pay monthly fees... yay!) which is heavily PvP focused. You lvl to 78 in under 2 hours.. then just find some friends and go around battling other clans. I dont know why the retail game wasnt designed this way.

If your looking to play MP online alot I wouldnt go with FEAR, not the best MP, maybe try COD2 or ever try DLing Americas Army its free.

I tired WoW once and never got addicted, I just cant get into MMOs at all. I was born to play FPS

^agreed, except I also love MMO's. That's why I'm so psyched for Huxley :), and Planetside was also a good one.

WOW will eat your life away like a flesh eating disease. But if you do decide to pick it up I know there is a PMS/H2o division on there.

Unreal 2k4, definitely a good idea if you want online multiplay.

i dont have the money for a new video card i do have a brand new dell Dimension E510 but i cant get on it hardly im just looking for a low specs game maybe an older one thats an fps or a low detail rpg

it is the friggin scariest PC i have ever watched.
the game is based off of a book, which i bought today because the game was so scary.
the scripted scenes and the AI is incredibly scary, and it keeps you on your feet.
i recommend to fps PC players.
