Hey folks.
Its been a while since I posted, I've been busy with school, trying to find a job here in Michigan (I'd have better luck finding Bigfoot in Palm Springs), and rekindling my WoW addiction.
Anyways, as I stated in my introduction thread, I am a student at Eastern Michigan University, and am attending a Womens/Genders Study class. Yes, I am a feminist male. No I have not given up my male genitalia :) The boys are where they're supposed to be!
Hehe... Moving on. The group I am in in this class has chosen Women In Technology as our focus for our group project. I am concentrating on Women In Gaming, and have been doing some research to that effect. What I would like to ask the community for is a few minutes of their time in filling out an interview form with 9 questions. I only require your first name, age, years of gaming, and tag (call sign). I will not be sharing this information with anyone outside of my class of 12 people. This is strictly academic.
If you choose to help me out with this, and I sincerely hope you do, here are the guidelines:
1. Your replies to the questions must be in clear and concise terms, no internet abbreviations or slang.
2. No wierd fonts, colors, or pink dragons.
3. Be as truthful and honest as you can. Lying about this stuff will just make my research worthless and useless.
4. Please do not use personal details such as height, weight, sexual orientation as a basis for your answers. I'm only looking for your experiences.
5. Make sure that no lolcats are harmed during the answering of these questions.
6. This is for the females only :) Sorry guys!
Thats about it folks. I will post the interview questions in the reply below. I only ask that you have fun while doing this. Feel free to leave replies here, or ideas, or better yet, if you can think of any better questions, please leave them here.
Thanks again!

here are the questions. Copy/Paste them into your Word Processor of choice, answer them, and then please email them to Me (abel.hill@gmail.com). If you could all have them to me by Friday night, I'd be most appreciative. I'll be spending my weekend getting the interviews into shape, the research paper started and the power point presentation started as well. So, without further ado, here's the questions!
PMS Clan Interview Questions
1. What got you into gaming?
2. Who (mother, father, brother, sister, cousin, friend, etc) got you interested in gaming?
3. What, if any, resistance have you encountered being a female gamer?
4. Have you had to be more competitive to garner the same respect as male gamers? If not, why?
5. Have you encountered any sexism regarding your gaming? (Can be from both men and women)
6. Pretend I am a potential woman gamer. How would you convince me to become a “grrl” gamer?
7. How do you think being a female gamer bucks the trend and breaks the long held belief that gaming is a boy’s only club?
8. As a female gamer, what challenges and or confrontations have you faced? Who has put up the most resistance to your gaming, men or women?
9. If you have a significant other in your life, what is their reaction or opinion about your gaming? If you are married, are you a spouse team?
10. A personal request from the interviewer: Can I has a cookie?!
I would like to thank all of the PMS/H2O clans for participating in this interview. I will post a copy of the interviews and paper on the boards as soon as it is all done. This will also include the PowerPoint presentation from my end of the group presentation.
