360 Freezing

Well, I've had it for about 2-3 years (cant remember) and just recently, my 360 starts to freeze during gameplay. Yesterday, I kept getting the RRoD randomly, and then it would play the game. My friend played halo campaign for about an hour and it froze. Then we tried NFS Carbom and it froze in 5 minutes. The today it froze at the Halo 3 main, and when I tried restarting it froze before the 360 intro finished. Now it turns on but wont display anything.

What the hell is going on now?

I've had similar occurences. I would be playing my xbox and it never freezes while playing but when I try to check my friends list or send a message it would freeze. Sometimes if you wait a while it will come back but in most cases it wouldn't. Worst part is, I only had the xbox for half a year.

Yeah, but my problem is it DOES freeze during the game, and sometimes it doesnt even make it past the 360 intro.

Mine did this and I had to ship it to microsoft. It wouldnt even boot up for 5 seconds.

mine did it too the first time i ever played call of duty 4. the screen would go green or have lines going through it. or it would freeze before the 360 screen loaded. it ended up red ringing for a couple days then it just froze up every 5 seconds after that. it was only 3 months old. so sad.... ended up having to send it in and pay for it cause the warranty didn't cover it.

I have RRoD two times on cod4. Once on my 360 ive had for two years and then once on the one they sent me back. LAMEZOR :P

Alright, Im sorry for all your losses, now could someone point me anywhere for a possible alternative so I dont have to send it back? I mean, I've had it for a while so the RRoD goes on and off so I cant ever tell if its serious or not.

Alright, seems to be alright. I cleaned it earlier and I had to move my bed cause I was blocked the vent system (no wonder it was so dusty) so I guess it needed to warm up.

I actually have been having problems like this too, mainly it started happening right after the halo 3 double melee update. My wireless connection has always been fine but I started lagging out of games completely. I mean, 47 kills and BOOM im dropped. Scoreboard pops up and sends me back into the lobby, then it says disconnected from messenger. I talked to just about everyone who works at best buy about this, and they directed me to get a new router. Well, I did that. My xbox is less than a year old too. Same thing with the wireless adapter. I've tried moving the xbox all over the house, setting matchmaking to preferred connection, etc. Still does the same thing. Tried calling support and they told me to perform a maintenance check, which i did, and behold it still does the same thing. I refuse to believe that it's completely something on my end. And now im just wasting money on routers and adapters.

omg... lol, if you get an XBOX 360 be prepared for overheating..

Go purchase one of two things, a little air cooling unit for it, or mod it with an liquid cooling system ^^

The 360 was poorly designed, Microsoft even stated that themselves in a conference.

The problem generally appears after several months. Whether you've checked it through optical lens cleaning kit? If "yes" then consult some optical device repairing specialist.

Just go to irepairsquad.com (http://www.irepairsquad.com) - they could fix that easily. They fixed my Red Ring of Death a while back and it's still running great.

Ensure that you have good ventilation and clean out your box here and there with a shot of compressed air. I had similar problems with my older box and after making those small changes all seemed to be OK, until the drive went out on me.

Hope you get it all squared away without having to send it back to Microsoft.

dont do a bunch of stuff at once, like open the dashboard get shot close it open it again that used to happen to me. you need to have patience you dont need to get everything done at once
