Yah it's pretty scary. I live 10 minutes from campus and helicopters and ambulances have been rushing by my house for the last 2 hours.

Wow it seems that this world is getting worse and worse. My son is only in middle school I can imagine how bad it will be when hes ready for college. Its sad to see things like this happen. I think how I used to run around all over the place when I was a kid and feel safe. now I don't even like to have my son ride his bike around the block without me. Even the schools are becoming unsafe.

It's sad that people have to go and take others lives like this. Liquid you are very right that the schools are becoming unsafe. I remember back when I was in high school, I want to say junior year, there was SO many bomb threats that year--about seven or so. The indiviuals that made the bomb threats got their friends to do it, and their friends got more friends to do it, etc. Just to get a day off from school.
It got to the point where the principal came out and announced that if there was any more bomb threats, that the school would NOT be evacuated, and school would stay in session. Which in the case of a bomb threat--the building is SUPPOSED to be evacuated, to ensure the safety of all indiviuals in the building at the time. (which we all know)
It goes to show you how stupid people can be. Think of this--if there actually was a bomb in the building that day, that would have been 954 lives lost, and I wouldn't be here posting this now.

this is why i DONT want kids. people are out of control, most the time they are because they are made fun of in school or have a bad childhood. i wish this would all stop, seems like copycats to me.
really as a teenager speaking for a lot of kids school is the safest haven a kid will ever have but when stuff like this happens it makes u question that

school has never been safe. yeah they have all the codes and procedures to seem prepared, but no one is for that. and school is unsafe for smaller reasons than shootings. bullies, shallow girls, mean teachers. people think bullying is not that big of a deal "boys will be boys" so to speak, but its far worse than that, it's usually what causes kids to have an outbreak and shoot people, everyday, over and over again, getting picked on, made fun of. it really really wears on a person. then you fear of saying anything to the school officials because you "tattled" and then they pick on you more because all they got was a slap on the wrist. IMO the "bullies" of our generation are one of the biggest causes of these things, and should be dealt with more than just a simple detention.
my heart goes out to the families out there who's members where hurt.

everytime I hear about stuff like that, all my hairs rise. It's really sad, and it's sickening that there are people out there doing crazy s*** like that . Those poor students ... I mean, nobody deserves to be murdered or shot at. I can't imagine what it does to the other students who where there and what they are living through. And the families/friends of the victims...
