Hey if anyone likes racing games AT ALL then I think you should check this game out atleast rent it.
Its got a long single player that keeps you busy because as you keep going you unlock newer cars so that kept me busy and I am still doing that.
Also the online has 350 Co-Op challenges which takes a few minutes each and the 8 player challenges are alot of fun!

If anyone plays this game when they are not playing there competetive games and just taking a break let me know I usually play this game when I am taking a break from Halo every now and then. Send me a Friend Request!

I wasn't impressed with Paradise. If it was judged as a stand-alone game (and not as an addition to the Burnout series) then it could be considered an average game with good graphics. But as a old school Burnout fan I think that the EA influence is obvious; has the feel of NFS:Underground 2. Personally I think they've broken something which was great. Bring back Burnout 2!!!

I really do enjoy the game, but I do wish they didn't take out the old Crash mode. I think Paradise is a good start if they want to keep it going as an open-world game, but they need to add more variety to the events next time. Still, I enjoy playing it.

Yeah I think thats why I like the game so much its kind of open and the online has made me laugh and be the most enjoyable online game I have played in awhile.
There is the showtime thats kinda like the crash mode. I personally like this burnout more than burnout 2 just because it was just levels..now you can pick what you want to do.

I agree with you for the most part. I do actually like this better online than the other ones, and the server is actually decent.

Showtime is the "new Crash mode", but it's still not as good in my opinion. I like being able to pick what you want to do as well instead of having to do things over and over again to advance.

In a sense it is different because the difficulty goes up as you progress through the game.

The demo is basically the game. The only stuff it is missing is the races themselves and about 80% of the map. I dont remember if you could do the showtimes (wreck fests) or not in the demo.

This is the only burnout in the series I haven't played/ don't own yet. I really want to play! I've heard really great things about it from my friends. Kind of bummed they changed a few things up but still... I gotta get that!

It was pretty much designed for online play from the ground up. I think it's worthy of a purchase but they did cut some key features from the last couple of games, like Crash Breakers and Traffic Checking....which sucks.

I know it was gone for a month, and I was thinking about giving you the benefit of the doubt for that, but then I thought better of it. ;)

ok i love the game, it's a big change from the COD4 that i usally play.....but the only thing i don't like about it is when ,you crash(like into a wall) it seem like it takes forever....i wish we could have the choice to skip it and start racing again....thats all

Hi, everyone. Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I'm getting back into Paradise City and am enjoying the heck out of it - my Gamerscore has jumped by around three hundred over the past couple of weeks alone!

Having played through Burnouts 2, 3 and Revenge, I can certainly understand the disappointment with the absence of crashbreakers and aftertouch and the nerfing of traffic checking (it is there, it's just nowhere near as superpowered and pinball-esque as it was in Revenge), not to mention this whole Open City business, but I'm finding I'm enjoying the resulting difference. Not being able to easily reset an event actually makes the game less frustrating - the Road Rage just around the corner from the finish line will take my mind off missing that Burning Route by a handful of seconds. Plus, being able to tool around Paradise City at my own pace allows me to get a better feel for the handling of each car.
On top of that, I think Stunt Runs balance the loss of crashbreakers and aftertouch, and the online activities are great: I had a ball yesterday with an old mate whom I’d not actually played with online in a good while, and we had a blast at Big Surf Beach and the airfield trying to meet targets of barrel rolls and big jumps.

I will agree with DarkSecret about the crashes, though. Burnout 3, in my opinion, had the best crashes - there was something about the shrill music and the screams in the background that made each crash an epic event - like my accident was suddenly the centre of everyone's attention - rather than the rather dull experience they are now, even if the cars fold up and shatter in all sorts of ways.
But anyway, are any of you folks still playing, and if so, can I come join you sometime?

I like realistic driving games and games with actual licensed cars I bought it anyway but I don't play it anymore at all.

Revenge is my all-time favorite, even though Paradise is the next one. I'm currently driving the Carbon X12 and the Carbon Hawker on PS3 :D I FINALLY got all billboards and Jumps :D

And this change was NOT for the better. But Free Roam was a good choice.

The free roam was cool BUT they should have done what carbon did. Free Roam when you're not racing.

What do you mean? You aren't always racing.... And Carbon had no online Free Roam except for a glitch?

On paradise, you can side track from the race and just drive any where. I hate that. On all other burnout games theres a wall covering corners on streets so you're driving down one path.

Oh yeah. That is gay. I got lost so many times and it pissed me off so much I pretty much quit after breaking 2 remotes.
