There was a glitch in one of the games (King Kong?) Where a person would continue to get points be redoing some facit of the game. There was discussion about it on the old boards around january or something.

The cheat in which you speak was in Condemned, and has been fixed... All of my gamerscore is legit, because I rock 360 games. Find me on live and look at my gamer card. And yes, I beat COD2 on veteran, lol.

Getting a high gamerscore is pretty hard here in Norway, since you can't rent games as easily as you American does. But I have to admit that I'm somewhat of an achievements-*****, I think I've played some games a bit more than they desvere simply because of the achievements

She is going to need that little head start! Im gunning for her number one spot! Oh! And she is amazing at Geometry Wars... It takes quite a bit of skill to play that game well. My high score is 1.6 million or so. Her score still blows mine out! I really respect her gaming skills after seeing how many points she put up on that leaderboard.

It's one of the advantages of working on the Xbox. :D

But don't tell anyone I've been playing it - I just found out that they really frown on playing the games early without hiding our games played on our profile and such. So OOPS.

I am looking forward to release for the game now - I think there's going to be a lot of potential for multiplayer on this game. With all the customizibility, I think there may be multiple strategies that will be effective, and the persistent war is going to be very interesteing.

I'm thinking I'm gonna try and get a division going for the game. Get a PMS Squad up and running right away - perhaps with H2Os also if needed. :)

They just encountered a glitch, Dondums has had his screw up twice and SmoothSpud had that happen recently. The Xbox folk will take care of it and make sure their gamerscore gets put back to where it was.

To all our dear achievementwhores; what games are the easiest to get 100% on? I've only got a couple of games 100%, including UNO, Amped 3 and NBA 2k6 - Amped 3 was the one who was actually worth something, the others just came without even trying.

This just shows how flawed the achievements system is - some games will take you ages to get 100%, others just a couple of hours.

College Hooks 2K6 is just a tad harder to get 100% on than NBA 2k6 - the blocked shots takes a little more work. King Kong gives you 100% by playing through the game - about 6 hrs of play. I hear Madden and NHL 2k6 are also both rather easy, though I haven't tried either and don't really plan to.

NFS:MW gives you 100% by just playing through, but the later part of the game sure isn't easy. The last couple police chases are quite hard and you really have to EARN passing them.

And don't take quite such a dim view of the system. It's a new feature, after all, and it'll take a while for people to get the feel of it. Besides, overall gamerscore comparisons really aren't going to be THAT useful. It's going to be more comparisons to your friends and who's done what in specific games.

Ummm, some sports games like the NHL, NBA and other basketball ones and NFL 06.

King Kong. I found CoD 2 fairly easy, although D-day and Hill 400 were by far the hardest on Veteran. But other people think that games impossible. Tiger Woods has some achievement problems, there are three which you can't get due to a glitch. GRAW nobody has the 1000 matches hosted, could be a glitch.

So basically a lot of the EA sports games (actually Fight Night took some dedication into getting the achievements and you have to get good at this game) are easiest.

I hate any achievements that have to do with ranking, whatever it is. This encourages cheating like mad, like the GRAW leaderboard ones and the Burnout "get your clip in the Top 20" although that one is not too brutal.

Trust me, this is a common gripe. Anything that encourages gaming of the system/boosting/etc is not good. And achievements that vary in difficulty based on the actions of everyone else are also bad. Leaderboard ones do both. And for that matter, achievmeents based on hitting certain TrueSkill rankings are just as bad.

Exactly. Hopefully they will realize their mistakes and maybe tone it down in future games.

I mean look at Halo 2, it didn't have achievements just a rank system and you can see how well that turned out.

When you throw in the aspect of GamerScore and achievements that include "make it to the top of the leaderboard", that's just asking for problems!

Highest I've seen is 2 million + some guy did a glitch and it gave him like 2 million points on condemned.

Highest legit score is 38,000 i'm pretty sure, he has all of the japanese games already.

And Major Nelson did an interview with ST TheKing who was the supreme champion of gamerscore for almost 6 month, and he actually goes to college. Alteast he used to, he's probably flunked out by now ;)

GangsterPanda decided to ride the gamer-train yesterday. I will admit it... I was happy. What is the gamer score? 5415 is what it is! That is a gain of 175 points over last time! He played Oblivion gaining an amazing 10 achievements, Rockstar Table Tennis gaining an amazing 6 achievements, and then he started getting all these friend requests because of high awesomeness levels.
I had 4190 on the 19th :)

I've been playing too much Rumble Roses. Damn, is that game stingy with achievements - I finally got my first one last night. (Title belt with Candy Cane - definitely my favorite character there)

NHL 2k6 was an easy one for me - the only trouble I had was with the Penalty shot on All-Star. Once I got the penatly shot, I got it on the first try. The hard part is just getting a chance to have a penatly shot.

Thanks Oryan, I just beat that stupid FunnyBunnyFunnyBunnyFunnyBunny water creature and snagged that lil blue elemental dude but I was so tired sunday i crashed at like 10 since i had to be leave the house at 7 to get to work...might try jumping back into Dynasty warriors tonite...we'll see. Wish you live close, I'd just loan you my games although im beginning to sell the ones ive beaten off slowly...think im down to about 9 games i still own but i have 6 reserved and already paid for so i'm good for a while!:cool:

@Kleaner: That water creature was hard to beat - only becuase I was horrible at aiming, and just steering "big blue". Have you heard of Gamefly? Its really done wonders to my gamerscore! I've went from 8040 - 16100 in almost 4 weeks.

Achievments are super addicting, gives me a reason to play games on the hardest difficulty. For instance, normally I'd play a game like X-Men: The Official Game of the Movie once or twice on normal, but because of the achievements I did everything I could in the game, got all the achievements and added 1000 to my gamerscore. And also for games like Oblivion you get a sense of purpose, like I wouldn't have touched the Thieves Guild (not very sneaky) but I decided to do it for the sake of the achievement points, played through it all, and now I'm the Gray Fox. Or when I played Battlefield 2:Modern Combat and went through one mission with the sniper alone to get the sniper medals I could. Really fun stuff.

Gamerscore doesn't mean anything. Most games hand out gamerscore for stupid things anyway. I don't think you should be rewarded with points just for completing a level. There are only certain achievements that really say something about you anyway, like beating COD2 on Veteran or the achievements you can get for climbing to the top of online leaderboards.

Not really. You can't cheat up your gamerscore, or standby to get it. :p

You can in a way. I go into forums on gaming sites all the time with people asking to help each other get/trade points in multiplayer games...which is very lame. (You kill me, I kill you, we get certain stats, and then some gamerscore points. Everybody's happy.) It defeats the whole purpose of having them in the first place. It's just like in Halo 2 where boosters help you to "level up." At least I earned all mine by myself.

well the way I see it as long as you know that you did it yourself that's all there is to it. It's like Halo 2, the rank doesn't matter, people cheat to get theirs most of the time, but so long as you know you did it yourself you can be satisfied. That's all.

Almost agree with you on that one......except for CHrome Hounds. I've seen a squad boosting capturepoints by playing 2 accounts vs eachother. They went up thousands capturepoints per hour and got the medal for it that war.
There is howewver an achievement for renown which you'll never get by boosting; just doesnt earn you many points.......dunno why but it just doesnt obviously. My current squad went in #1 during that war for renown points without the boosting. We just did alot of multiplayer vs battles instead of rushing the CPU or cheating with 2 accounts.

And encourage rampant cheating to get there, especially since Ubisoft doesn't reset the GRAW leaderboards, without boosting, you would never get those achievements. The people who first got those achievements all went online first to leapfrog off of eachother so they could all get in first.

Seems like my gamerscore is suffering these days, this pretty weather makes it a bit hard staying inside all the time. Oh well, Xbox Live can wait, the summer won't.

I guess I'm the only one that is going to say gamer score is pointless huh? Its a number that mostly relfects how many games you play/rent.

Its fun to compare achievements with in a game to see hwo your friends are doing - but the total score doesn't mean much. Especially if you play games you don't like just for points - its gaming!! it should be fun -

i finally got to play some new games. like NFS:MW which is an amazing game.
and full auto.

I love flight sims and it looks like I'm still waiting on a good one to hit the 360...:(

Cracked Chromehounds last nite...so far the single player is a bit slow.

I love CH - however the single player blows - its a long tutorial where you can earn the best parts in the game. Serves no other purpose and is way too long and pretty boring.

Mix in online play and evenutally you'll get through the SP and get the good parts. Squad based combat online is where the game shines.

i disagree, yeah the single player is short, but it is innovative, and it gives you a chance to try everything. and then when you go online you can choose the mech that you truely are good at. and actually, if you watch the cut scenes there is an underlying story to each country, it's not just a "tutorial"

Exactly - its a tutorial - it teachs you to use each RT in a few typical senarios for that type. I saw the cut scenes - there is a story - its just a week, sort of cheesy one (and that narrator could cure insomina)

I'm curious what you find innovative about the SP story line? Not the game, but the SP story - i found it to be about as generic and straight forward as they come.
