Okay I am seriously contemplating buying that Nintendo DS lite..what games are you all playing? Any recommendations on whats hot and whats not?

Be aware that the whole Friend Code thing feels a bit awkward, I miss an unified system like Xbox Live.
I'm currently playing Mario Kart and New Super Mario Bros, and enjoying both of them - the DS Lite is pretty damn sexy, and if you happen to travel a lot (or just enjoying playing while walking around :p), this is a Godsent.

Like Panda said, it's pretty much nothing like xbl. There's no voice chat at all, only text and I'm not sure if that's even available in most games. I know you can text msg people in Animal Crossing, but it's a huge pain! I still think it's cool to connect with other people on a handheld without some silly cord or having to sit right next to them. That way you can play with people all over, not just the dude sitting next to you. :)


As far as games go, I really, really <3 Animal Crossing! Some other games worth buying are, Mario DS, Mario Kart, Kirby Cursed Canvas and Nintendogs... that is if you're ok with yelling "SIT DOWN" at your DS. People look at you weird. ;)

I completely recommend the DS Lite and I would also like to say that Mario Kart, Meteos, and Lost Magic are probably the three best games for the system with Mario Kart and Lost Magic offering WiFi play to boot. Animal Crossing is also fun because the online play adds a deeper sense of community.
