Anyone know of a decent/good program that can take videos of what's happening on your computer screen without any extra add-ons? And preferrably free with good video quality.

FRAPS if you want to record games, Camtasia for anything else.
You have to pay for both. FRAPS has a free version, though I advise you not to download it. Should you decide to buy or "share" the paid version you'll have to edit your computer's registry if you've used the free version. Camtasia works well and I'm sure you can find someone willing to "share" it with you :P

I personally like FRAPS as well if you are recording specific applications.
