Ron Paul for President

Ron Paul’s stance on the issues are what drew me to his cause. He is well read to which we have heard clearly in the debates. Being well educated, intelligent, experienced, and having a strong economic understanding is paramount; and he is the man. This country cannot stand with a deficit that we now have. We need to get this country running in the black moving back to a strict constitutional base.
Lets spread the word. Less government, Less Tax, More accountability, No NAFTA, No Patriot Act, Bring our troops home, create an environment for US industries to prosper, Cheaper health care. I don’t care what party you belong to, when there is a man with as much clarity and sincerity as Dr. Paul, he deserves recognition and admiration. Ron Paul for 2008.

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.

He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

My big issues are abortion, stem cell research, immigration, and the war in Iraq. At least those are the issues I tend to find more information about.

Wow a lot of people responded. I thought a political issue would intimidate most. lol. What peaked my interest in him in the 1st place is he was a libratarian turned republican. I thought wow, now thats a jump, but some of the things he does are awesome. He doesn't accept money from intrest groups, which in my opinion is great because then he is not forced to support one thing over another for the sake of money. I just thought I would let people know what I thought, because you only hear about the popular canidates.

Really? I heard that he was against creating a new currency. Need to look into that a bit but I'm pretty sure he was not going in that direction. He’s also against a super highway from Mexico to Canada, to bad they always go to commercials right when he gets the stand on Tv.

Why would you share your opinion thinking that we will respect yours when you don't respect ours?

So, you favor a Republican for the sake of your fortune? You favor Ron Paul knowing about the horrible newsletters that went out under his very own name against black women and men, Jews and gay people? And you don't like Obama because he's willing to negotiate before sending our brothers, sons, best friends, husbands and boyfriends to die? There are better reasons to choose a candidate. I'm not saying yours aren't valid and I'm not expecting you to care.

Lately I've been getting really interested in the run up to this presidential election..seeing as though I will be living there next year, it's probably a good thing! and even if things don't work out and I stay in Australia, the outcome is still definitely going to affect us.

The hardest part about this is learning about the differences between republicans and democrats and liberals and conservatives. If I was able to vote, I'd have a very hard time choosing between candidates - even here, I find it difficult to trust the election promises of politicians.

I think, if I went off of trustworthiness, if I was a democrat, I'd be voting for Obama...if I was a republican, i think it would be a very close call between McCain and Ron Paul...

I would have no idea though once we get to the actual election for the president! It's a good thing I'm not able to vote. :P
