Anyone looking to pick this up? If so, send me a friend request if you'd like. I know it doesn't come out till the 5th, or 30th if you reserved at GameStop, but it looks great. Co-op as well as some great multiplaye features.

I was wondering about this game.. I'll put it on my Gamefly list :D It looks like it could be cool, ethier will be fun or sucky. But I'm always looking for good co-op (or sucky coop) games, since there aren't many I take what I can get to play with my friends :D. Does it have online multiplayer or splitscreen? or? I haven't looked much into this game. >.<

The demo is on the marketplace right now. Pretty lengthy demo at that. And to Jumper, no split screen sadly, but on Live yes. 16 players. Usual games such as CTF, Death Match, Team Death Match, plus the new mode called War Games. Set up with larger maps that have multiple objectives such as capturing control posts or bunkers, while the other team holds them off or captures others. 4 player online Co-op as well. The co-op is completely different from the SP campaign, and the dev's have stated that they are backing this game fully with future DLC already in the works. So hopefully that means more missions and such. All in all the game looks awesome though. Knife kills are fun, gun play is really cool, flares are fun to stick to soldiers and watch the dino's attack them, plus the multiplayer is cool because within the maps, along with your enemies, there will be dinosaurs running around too. So that'll be an exciting addition. Anyways, if anyone picks it up Wednesday or Thursday and wants to do some co-op or mess around online just send me an invite if you'd like :D

Vengeance: I believe it was stated that it launches February 5th or January 30th if you reserved it?

I find it interesting that most of you recount favorable experiences with Turok.
I think this game looks pretty good -- but, I'm skeptical because it is Turok. Not everything is better with dinosaurs.

I'm just looking forward to the Tek Bow once again, oh the joys it brought me...Possibly the Poison Arrows from Evolution would be nice too, endless hour of fun making enemies throw up.

The Release date is today at most GameStop's, but most other retail stores get it on the real street date which is Feb. 5th.

I played the demo and put this game in my GameQ on Gamefly.. It seems pretty cool, my only complaint is that for an M rated game it doesn't seem very bloody.. I like my shooters with blood, it makes them more realistic to me I guess.
The dino's seem pretty bloody, but my main complaint is that when you knife someone there's no blood.. its like a knife slash with no animation of actual cutting.. maybe it's just the demo, but idk I didn't like it.
Also the grass detail is a little weird to me, I can't really think of how to explain it except that it kind of looks like cuts of paper being folded over.. again maybe its just the demo?
For those who have the game already is it any different?

ok i shot a raptor with a rocket and its head landed 20 feet away with a wet slapping sound next to my friend, this game has more gore than soldier of fortune gold edition on the ps1 and the 2 suffering games combined :|
and its way different >.< add me if ya wanna pway :O

Yea, the full version is a bit bloodier. But the soldiers do not bleed. The excuse is the armor doesn't bleed, I know this isn't very sensical, but the dev's specifically said they wanted to put alot more into the blood on the dinosaurs, and the A.I. into both, and bloody humans didn't seem very important. But if any of you have any other questions relating to gameplay, campaign, multiplayer, or whatever else I'lll be glad to answer, as well I'm sure Reaper will to :D

Yea, online 16 players. FFA, TDM, CTF, and War Games, which is objective based team games like assualt and such.Co-op is three seperate missions that are actually very difficult. Great game.

hey guys i was wondering if turok is worth buying?
or if anyone knows any info on the game

lol well i've been posting my info in the previous posts, but it's been broken up into pieces, so here's the best I can give you. I'm a few hours into the SP at the most, but understand it enough to explain it.
Basically, it's a run of the mill FPS, with some cool features. It can be very fast paced, and very dfficult at times, but I enjoy that. The controls resemble any usual FPS so that's nothing new to learn. The weapons are where the game shines really. The knife can be your best friend, stealth kills are quick, and dino kills are brutally gory. The bow is also a cool feature, stealth headshots can lead to clearing out an entire area that was meant for a massive firefight. But if you're a guns blazing kind of person like I am at times, it's actually great fun as well. The gunplay is quick, and powerful. The A.I is smart enough to not stand in the open and get shot. They'll take cover, flank, and distract you with grenades so they can run to the closest gun turret. They'll keep distance so knife kills are hard if you've been spotted. Hit system is also good. headshots are one hit kills, leg shots drop them long enough to pump an extra clip into them or run up and execute with the knife. But enough about the humans, the dino's are also awesome, thankfully since it is Turok haha. They aren't as smart, considering they are dinosaurs, but the smaller ones will flank you in the tall grass, and the raptors work together which can be very difficult. If you're using your knife, it's all about timing. Diving right as they launch at you then jumping on their back to slit their throar. Very rewarding in my opinion. Haven't fought a T Rex yet, but I hear they're just straight up brutes. Alot of running and shooting involved.
The Story is suprisingly good, and the main characters actually have backgrounds and depth. Suprising and great for an FPS. It will at least get you somewhat involved.
The Level design is great, it's somewhat linear, but the areas are open enough for you to either stealth bow them, set up great firefights, or knife kill in the tall grass. Or if you have a shotgun, send a flare in the middle of the gaurds and watch the dino's run in and maul them all.
Multiplayer is fun, the dino's and giant bugs add a cool feature, though I wish there were more in the levels. The other players tend to just run around with the knife the entire time, but it's still fun when you're with some other players that aren't just abusing the knife.
Co-op online is really where it shines. It seriously requires massive strategy and team work. If it's only two of you, you have to cover eachother constantly, even with 4 people, you still have to watch eachother's backs and while one rushes the objective, the other must snipe, while the remaining two watch for flanking gaurds and dino's. I really love the co-op. I find it amazing. If you could find friends that'd be down to play the co-op maps over and over, (there are only 3 at the moment, each take about 45 minutes to complete if you're good, but more are promised by Propoganda Games) then I'd say it's worth a buy.
Hope this helps anyone on the fence of getting this game. Have fun, and if you want to play, send me a friend request if you'd like :D

played this, my friend got it. and i was completely disappointed. i played a demo at pax last year and i was like "whoa this is awesome" so i figured the final game would be the same. but it wasn't. it sucked. the graphics are ugly, the gameplay isn't that great, i mean knifing someone is cool but other than that it's just another generic shooter that they decided to turn a good game into (pdz for example). how disappointing

This is completely off topic, but you have EDF in your recently played games list on your gamertag! Lol I love that game. Like being in a 60's B-Rated Sci-Fi movie!

yeah me and my friend spent about 13 hours last weekend beating it on hard. damn it was so fun, so super cheesy and everything but it's the most fun i've had playing a game in a long long time. if only we had the genocide gun haha.

I know seriously haha. I haven't spent much time on it lately, but I've been thinking of picking it up again. It's funny, whenever I go to trade in games, I'll have the stack, and someone will always say "what about that one?", pointing at EDF. And I always put it on the shelf haha. One of the few games I will probably never trade in. Along with the Halo series, and DMC series :D

well im pretty displeased with the new turok i like turok classic (yes that was a coke joke)
turok was a native indian type person
not an astrounaut
and the aim assist (which almost all fps have) was missing
i felt i was using the knife more then the gun

i agree
if only they had a better development team
you would think being a tester that they would think "this is repetitive" but they do what they can to get paid
thats why indie games are usually alot better
no one gets paid till the game is released and they are only paid what the game makes
